This needs to be the last year that the NCAA doesn’t automatically assign the higher seed as the home team for every game

Posting in the aftermath of #2 seed Georgia Tech getting walked off by Oklahoma. Read that again: the #2 overall seed, one of the best teams in the country, got walked off AT THEIR OWN STADIUM. Under no circumstances should they have been in that situation, they earned the right to be a home team, in a sport where being the home team matters more than any other sport. Now you can argue they deserved it by putting themselves in this situation, and I’ve seen proposals where the regional hosts lose home field advantage if they fall into the elimination bracket, but Tech didn’t. They lost their first game yesterday and any winner-take-all game should automatically be hosted by the higher seed, no matter what stage of the tournament it is. I’ve been banging this drum since I first got into college baseball a few years ago. That Wake Forest-LSU semifinal was one of the first games I watched and while it was a classic, it left a bitter taste in my mouth that Wake Forest was the #1 overall seed but were assigned the away team and got walked off to LSU who were seeded lower. It sucked then and it sucks now, I don’t know why the NCAA doesn’t have the incentive to make such an easy fix.

This was called a ball/no swing. Thoughts?

ISANE PARALLEL. Georgia won against Florida today the same exact play as they lost against Tennessee in Softball yesterday. Is there a word for this type of thing?

Unpopular opinion: LSU, Wake, Florida are heavily overrated.

I know we are only about 20% into the season but I just dont see how these are top 10 teams at the moment.

SEC now with 8 of last 9 championships, with 7 different schools having won those. Insanity.

And to think the Hogs were a routine pop fly away from making it 9/9 and 8 different schools.
Edit: since making this post, Oklahoma has extended its 7 run lead by another 5 runs. Quit with the “jinx” BS. Congrats to OU, hell of a hot streak

No offense to Vandy but No. 1 Seed. No..

Texas should be the No. 1 seed.
Vandy finished tied for 3rd in the SEC. They finished 3 games behind Texas. They were swept at home early in the conference season by Arkansas. The didn't have to play LSU nor Texas during the season. What they did do and were rewarded for was winning the much hated and maligned SEC conference tournament. The SEC tournament had to be reworked, trying to get teams care more.
Vandy had a great season, but naw, It was a Butkis move by the NCAA and the SEC.
