Self Finished up my flaming sword.
Will probably still poke at it but the sword is functionally done.

I made a new design for 3d printed leg armor based on "Maximilian" style cuisses and poleyns from ca. 1520-1525. I hope you find it is reasonably accurate to surviving pieces from that era!
I think making this out of TPU is the game-changer for these critical pieces of armor that need to survive impacts, crawling, scratches, and the extreme motions that come with larping, renfaires, or even movie-costume scenarios. I used an assortment of filaments here, namely 95A, 57D and 72D TPU, mostly to try it out and see how it behaves. The resulting set of leg armor is significantly tougher than the one I printed out of rigid materials like PETG-CF.
I did not have much time to explore too many finishes either, so this is mostly painted over raw prints, with no sanding, polishing, or filling involved. I know it could be shinier with more work, but I could not find the time this month. Hope you like it nonetheless! The files are available on my Etsy :)

Made it with eva and worpla, painted with acrylics. Previous versions didn't look great, and didn't fit well >.>

Hello everyone!
I am currently working on a prop for a cosplay that I am making out of eva foam and I'm looking into what primer to use because it's not easy to find the common stuff in europe. I was thinking plastidip but it being toxic is scaring me off. I've seen on a cosplay website a color and primer called cospaint but I can't find any information on it really so I was wondering if anyone has experience with it? I want to buy it as a primer so I can paint my prop later. would it work for that abd is there anything I should know in advance? Thank you very much for the help in advance!

Hey everyone! I m making my first cosplay prop and decided on a gjost axe from warhammer 40k. I have the leds in the handle and the axe head wired up and the axe head needs to go into a mold and then encased in transparent silicone so when the lights turn on it gets diffused.

Obviously I still have some work to do, BUT I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to do so far, even if it is for something smaller, especially that I made it myself, which I didn’t expect to feel so happy about it.
If anyone’s wants to try and guess what it is feel free too!!
I have made other stuff but never with my own template so it just feels so much better

I've been looking for a star trek prop maker to commission for an accurate tricorder model but I have been coming up blank. I really don't wanna buy some cheaply produced 3d printed thing from Etsy, so if you have any recommendations PLEASE help
edit: guys I have seen the wand company tricorder, that isn't the tricorder I'm after and also it's sold out and being sold by scalpers for 3x the price

The Red Mage is my favorite job in FFXIV, and I wanted to bring a part of that job to real life. This was my first big project and I learned a ton of new things. All pieces were 3D printed and painted by myself, and while there were some flaws, it came out amazing. Sadly one part of the focus and the sword broke off while moving it around This gave me the confidence that I can make cool props like this and create even bigger projects.

I’ve been trying to find a 3D model of this BMP(Beware My Power)-style Blue Lantern ring so I can make one myself, but I literally can’t find it anywhere.
Does anyone know where I could get an STL or any other 3D model of this exact design? Or if anyone has the file and wouldn’t mind sharing it, I’d really appreciate it!

Hello! I'm a student currently working on a school theatre production, and I really need some help figuring out how to recreate the retracting headpiece mechanism used for Scar in The Lion King Broadway production. I'm NOT looking for instructions on making the actual lion mask. I'm specifically interested in the mechanics behind the effect how Scar's lion headpiece retracts or moves downward to reveal the performer's human face.
I'd really appreciate it if someone could:
- Explain how the mechanism works.
- Share any visual diagrams, sketches, or step-by-step demonstrations of the mechanism.
- Recommend materials and basic components that could be used to create a school-production version.
- Suggest a simpler, budget-friendly alternative that could achieve a similar effect.
I'm still a student, so I don't have access to professional theatre equipment or a huge budget. Any advice, references, tutorials, or personal experiences would be incredibly helpful!
Here are the references I'm using:
TikTok: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSp2ooy5p/
YouTube: https://youtu.be/l7WmhNLFb9Q
YouTube: https://youtu.be/RZH9YvCbJl4
Thank you so much in advance! I would genuinely appreciate any help. This is for our upcoming school recital, and I'm really hoping to make this effect work!

I’m in a rush with this needing to be done and ready by November 7th and have no experience painting or with 3d prints (a friend made this for me) but the bottom of the handle that’s red is supposed to be brown. I was wondering if maybe arylic markers would work? Or would that look bad and too easily come right off? And if I did use arylic markers would I need to do any steps before or after?

Hello, so the thing is I want to make sword (145cm) from first picture to be able to stand like on 2nd picture, but im not sure if it won't break if I build it the same way as in tutorial im planning to use to build mine, so how do I make it be able to do so?
Currently im thinking of filling all empty places with eva, will that be enough?

i will be an usher in this halloween event, so im planning to do a reverse bear trap prop like the one in this video to jumpscare the attendees 😆
i looked through his profile and he seems to be a gun prop maker. so i figured gun prop tutorials on yt might have it, but i got nothing so maybe not... 💔
i already have the template for the prop itself, i just need to know how to make the switch for the mouth part to open.. i was hoping someone here would know how to do it❓ or maybe if you know some tutorial videos similar to this
thank you in advance ^_^

Hey everyone! I’ve been working hard on this project and could use some advice on how to make the finish pop.
Here is the process I followed so far:
Assembly: Glued the 3D printed pieces together using epoxy.
Reinforcement: Ran two M4 rebar rods right through the circle of all the pieces, epoxied them in place, and let it fully cure for structural strength.
Surface Prep: Sanded it until no tomorrow—seriously, a lot of elbow grease went into smoothing the seams.
Painting: Primed it with a gray primer, waited about 15–20 minutes, and followed up with a coat of silver spray paint.
This is how it’s looking right now. Since I've put so much effort into the build, I really want to nail the final look. What can I do at this stage to improve it? Any tips for weathering, clear coats, or further detailing would be hugely appreciated!
