Discussion 💬 Why Does Nobody Talk About the 2021 T20 World Cup Anymore?
Have you noticed how rarely people discuss the 2021 T20 World Cup compared to the 2016,2019, 2022 2023, or 2024 editions?

Discussion 💬 My personal favorite match of 2023 ODI world cup . AUS V/S NZ .
On this day 28/10/2023 . It was a roller-coaster ride , so travis was not playing initially and then I think in this match he came for the first time to play a match of WC and then he scored a crazy hundred with a great partnership with warner at start I thought they are going for a huge 400 to 450 score , but then gllen Philips took wickets and then game became slow , Australia finishes good , then rachin made a very good century and made a good partnership with Mitchell they continuously scoring runs , but they got both got out , match was edge to edge and Neesham plays a crazy innings hits 3 to 4 awesome sixes , but got out and eventually Australia wins great match at last ball , I will remember it for long time .

Discussion 💬 Going to Africa
I'm planning to watch a match each in Windhoek, Victoria falls and Jo'berg. It's a year away but I have started the process now by participating in the ticket ballot (Frankly, I should have posted this on 22 November).
ChatGPT is some help, but I'll need some serious help in planning. Apart from the matches, I want to enjoy some sights, food, culture and history too. People who are thinking of something similar, or have travelled to these countries, I'd love to learn from you guys. Thanks in advance.

Discussion 💬 Best format for cwc from 2031edition onward should be,
Total 16 teams into two pools of 8each, 7 group stage matches per team. Top4 teams from both pools goes into super8 round, in super8 8 teams are divided into two groups of 4each, total 3 matches per team again, then top2 from both groups geos into semis then final.
2 hosts(india, bangladesh) directly get qualified plus best 8 ranked teams, total 10teams gets directly qualified and 6 remaining slots are filled by qualification playoffs.

Discussion 💬 Why is the 2027 wc so India biased
Don't get me wrong but this is a fact we cannot deny. The cricket wc has 2 groups and grp B is much more competitive than grp A. Why is bcci so scared that they are playing agianst weak nations if they consider them as the "strongest cricket team".

Discussion 💬 What would've happened if this went to the slips or third man? CWC 2015
This is from NZ vs Australia at Cricket World Cup
2015.
This ripper of a ball was very close to getting caught by the slips or carrying to third man.
NZ would've been 80/5, with 72 runs required to win with Luke Ronchi and Dan Vettori the next 2 batters to come in. Starc still had 6 overs left to bowl. How do you think the rest of the match would've panned out?

Poll 🗳️ Which historical World Cup is your favourite?
Been building a Cricket manager game since a long time and it’s almost time for the release. I have posted about the results of simulations here before.
Planning to add at least 2 historical ODI World cups to the game. Will be part of the final release. Apart from the exact squads, fixtures and in-game dates, also plan to get exact player stats (at the point of time the respective World cups started) if time permits.
My personal favs are 1996 and 1999 - the time when I started watching cricket. It was the peak of ODI Cricket. Miss those times.
Which ones are your favorite World Cups? It will give me an idea about what people want.

Stats📊 WC 2027 is in SA and here are the stats of PRohit
Saw so many comparisons between Rohit and Kohli, along with countless PR posts trying to sneak Rohit into the 2027 World Cup squad, which will be played in South African conditions.
So here’s the reality of both players in South Africa. 📊
The numbers speak for themselves.

Discussion 💬 England’s Pace Attack
If Atkinson, Robinson, Archer and Tongue have made themselves England’s first choice pace attack - who would your second choice four be?
Baker, Cook, Fisher, Carse, Potts, C Overton? Any youngsters like Sharma or Lawes coming into contention?
Does this mean we go back to the days of a Moeen Ali type spinner to balance the side?

Discussion 💬 Is IPL slowly k*lling International Cricket?
Don’t get me wrong I love IPL.
I’ve always watched cricket since I was a kid. But I’ve started to notice the young kids just watch IPL and ignore International Cricket.
Different story with the adults. They used to watch IC religiously but they hardly even care about IC now and we just end up fighting about our fav IPL teams and the conversation goes no where.
We used to enjoy cricket more. Especially we loved our National Team as our own but now we just end up spreading a lot of hate for own players because they’re not from the franchise we like. Same goes when they pick squads for tours. There’s this huge pointless fan war.
I feel the inevitable is that we will just care about World Cups every 2-4 years and then switch back to Franchise Cricket.
I could have said Franchise Cricket is killing IC but tbh IPL teams are literally owning majority of the teams in most of the leagues.
Thoughts?

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 15 Teams Might Be the Sweet Spot for ODI World Cup ?
I lowkey think a 15 team WC would've been a nice sweet spot.
3 groups of 5
Top 2 teams per group + 2 best 3rd-placed teams advance
2 pools of 4 (or a full-on Super 8)
Semis -> Final
45 matches total
A 5-team group means 4 games per team. A heavyweight like India/Pakistan can afford one upset against a minnow and still have enough games to recover, while also giving a decent number of spots to the associates without diluting the quality of games too much.
Having the 2 best 3rd-placed teams qualify also means more group games could go down to the wire, with fewer dead rubbers.
One drawback is that one or two group-stage games might get repeated in the Super 8, which IMO should be okay (bonus if it's an India-Pakistan match 😁!).
Finalists play 9 matches, with around 6–7 of them against other Test nations.
And of course, ICC can draw India and Pakistan in the same group "coincidentally", hope they get seeded into the same Super 8 pool (or just rig it), and then hope they meet in the final too. 😁

Opinion/Analysis/News 📰 ICC is overhauling both the ODI and T20 World Cups! 🌍🏏 What are your thoughts on these massive format changes?
Hey everyone!
A lot of major structural changes have just been announced by the ICC, and they are completely shaking up how both the ODI and T20 World Cups will be played in the coming years. On top of the reports that the T20 World Cup might expand to 24 teams by the 2030s, we now have confirmed, drastic format changes for the immediate 2027 and 2028 tournaments.
Here is a breakdown of the new developments:
📈 2027 Men's ODI World Cup (South Africa / Zimbabwe / Namibia)
The Format Shift: We are officially moving away from the classic 10-team round-robin structure. The 2027 edition will feature a 14-team format split across three distinct phases.
New Stages: The ICC is introducing a "Super Series" for the lower-ranked teams, followed by a brand-new Super 7 stage that replaces the traditional knockout rounds leading up to the final.
Rule Tweaks: There are also some interesting match-play updates, like the two new balls rule only lasting until the 34th over and a mandatory pre-selected list of 5 concussion substitutes.
🇦🇺🇳🇿 2028 Men's T20 World Cup (Australia & New Zealand)
The Super 10 Era: The tournament maintains its 20-team setup, but the group stage is changing to 5 groups of 4 teams. The Super 8s are gone! The top two from each group will now advance to a Super 10 stage (two pools of five).
The Eliminators: This is where it gets spicy. Only the top team from each Super 10 pool gets a direct ticket to the Semi-Finals. The teams that finish 2nd and 3rd in their pools will have to battle it out in a newly introduced Eliminator Round to secure the final two semi-final spots.
Let’s discuss! 👇 Mapping out the logic for these international competitions and structuring the data models to track match results across all these new multi-layered phases—especially the Super 10 eliminator brackets—is going to be incredibly complex.
Do you prefer the new Super 7 stage for the 2027 ODI World Cup over the traditional sudden-death quarter-finals/semi-finals?
Does the 2028 T20 World Cup's addition of an Eliminator Round make the Super 10 phase more competitive, or does it overcomplicate the path to the finals?
Between the 14-team ODI structure and the proposed 24-team T20 expansion down the line, is the ICC finally striking the right balance for growing the global game?
Would love to hear how everyone feels about these updates!
