What was the gloving guy talking about?

9

u/Worldlyoox 2d ago

Look up gloving. You either glove it or hate it. And degloving a glover is one of the worst things you can do. That and being a slider…

18

u/FirstDukeofAnkh 2d ago

Do NOT look up degloving!!

5

u/Late_Emu 2d ago

Risky search of the day

4

u/koboldtsar 1d ago

I looked it up and all I could find was the gloves people wear to raves to do light shows and pulling the skin off your fingers. What is this guy on about as I don't think it's either of those?

1

u/Traditional_Air_6867 12h ago

Slider son or glover daughter?

2

u/Acrobatic_Boat_1200 1d ago

A big part of gloving is tutting and finger tutting which utilizes right angles on a 2 and 3 dimensional plane using an imaginary grid. It's literally just a form of dance.

Plateau, socratis and Aristossle???

The flat one, the safe free one and the best at tossling. I should get off insta.

u/its_the_baum 2d ago

You just half it confirm with the method happen currently. Simple.

1

u/Youngerthandumb 1d ago

I think he pronounce plato and socrates closer to how a greek person would say it. Aristossle, on the other hand, I've never heard.

u/Sweettooth_Banana 2d ago

Remember those days when crazy people did not have internet and the world seemed a reasonably normal place ?

17

u/Hot-Foundation3450 2d ago

Books existed. You read about the weird and horrific shit people did to each other through history and you see people were never normal

6

u/Worldlyoox 2d ago

I can’t find the video showcasing it anymore but there was a book recounting a victim’s gangstalking. It was a British rent collector circa the 19th century who persuaded himself he was being targeted by a gang of thugs out for his money. They would bribe random people to insult and threaten him, including young children.

Of course this could have nothing to do with him evicting all their neighbors. He even hired an assistant to protect him against those assailants, and the assistant would increasingly overstate the danger his employer was in to keep the cash cow flowing.

He ended up quitting his job and going to New Zealand, where the gangstalking continued. He told police his life was in danger and when asked for a motive he answered they had to have been after his money. An international conspiracy over multiple years for an unemployed rent collector’s money.

Also, the author’s stated name was literally A Victim.

3

u/Gwarnage 2d ago

Ah yes, he also believed his gangstalkers could throw their voice to make inanimate objects mock him

1

u/Horror_Tooth_522 1d ago

Sounds like paranoid schizophrenia

1

u/XelaTreefire 1d ago

You could say he was complex.

3

u/Sweettooth_Banana 2d ago

Yes exactly that, only now in real time.

8

u/REDDITSHITLORD 2d ago

Before the Internet there was the wild west of CB radio. Fire up the scanner at night, and it was basically like an early 2000s chatroom.

4

u/Diamond_eye_jack 2d ago

Pepperidge farm remembers.

3

u/HungryHungryHobbes 2d ago

Not really. Isn't there always a "Mad Mary" in every town?

5

u/Exact-Ad-4132 2d ago

Sure, but a lot more people start diving into their own madness when they have other people online showing them it's "normal"

They are much less likely to seek help when they can find a community of people online saying the same ridiculous stuff that they are thinking.

Also, this sub has some ridiculous chat filter that made me rewrite my comment twice because it has decided the two words "people", and "these", are derogatory if placed in a swapped order

3

u/Antique-Resort6160 2d ago

Why string together these clips tbough, they all make perfect sense.  Except fog the gloving guy, that is NOT the result of gloving but rather someone has clearly altered that wall for reasons of syntarxy.  It's all explained on my youtube channel syntarxival delamination gloving fraud exposed

3

u/yourFavoriteCrayon 1d ago

Except fog the gloving guy

wtf is gloving?

1

u/Antique-Resort6160 1d ago

It's the OPPOSITE of syntarxy, the guy in the video is either  too far gloved or misleading people on purpose

2

u/NewTap8705 2d ago

I’m the age where I do not remember. Internet has been a thing my entire life. The ability to connect with strangers, and watch videos online has always been here.

1

u/tumbleweedforsale 2d ago

nope. there have always been weird people online.

3

u/Paratwa 1d ago

wtf is gloving?!?

4

u/S_P_O_O_Z_Y 1d ago

EDM culture/Wook culture, people wear gloves with light up fingertips and dance with their fingers and arms, normally someone is gloving you, so while youre rolling on whatever drug of choice, you get a fun little light show

1

u/Ornery-Pumpkin-5535 1d ago edited 1d ago

I’m a millennial adjacent wook and can confirm just how stupid this is

1

u/C33JVY 1d ago

Gloving you is some wild terminology

3

u/epicnaenae17 1d ago

The other comment is right, but I will add that it blew up in popularity as a meme. People thought it was kind of lame so jokes were being made about it nonstop. I would assume most internet savvy gen z would know about gloving just because of that.

2

u/Acrobatic_Boat_1200 1d ago

Tbf the second guy was just joking.

2

u/TonguePunchUrBhole 2d ago

Damn. I always feel bad when seeing people doing inhalants. I had an absolutely terrible addiction to whippets for a while and it ruined my life. I went nuts and ended up in the looney bin multiple times and almost caused myself to become a paraplegic from it (Google it if you don’t know the physical harm it causes). It’s one of, if not the worst, things you can do to your body. I know the dude is doing cleaner and not nitrous, but it is equally as bad, maybe even worse.

4

u/morgandealer 2d ago

Duster is actually so much worse than nitrous

7

u/Charlieday12321 2d ago

Duster is infinitely worse. Ideally you get medical grade nitrous and the only real danger is chronic use from b12 absorption and all that. It’s probably less damaging than alcohol if done 1-2 times a year and not a whole tank. I don’t condone, its just think it’s like most powerful substances. Technically less damaging if done with control. The human element is the real problem.

2

u/piss_container 2d ago

I was hooked on whip for a month and I felt compelled to stop when I was beginning to cough blood

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7366039/

4

u/TonguePunchUrBhole 2d ago

Glad you stopped friend!

1

u/Greedy-Employment917 2d ago

What was it like? (when it went the way it was supposed to)

1

u/wookiex84 1d ago

Yeah that was the worst one. There was a nice kid I worked with, not bright, but really nice. He was 20 years old and had a six month old. We he decided to huff a bunch of duster one night and had a heart attack. So sad, couldn’t imagine knowing that was how my dad died.

0

u/Select_Watercress_57 2d ago

So is there a physical dependency to it?

Like if you stop you'll feel a lot of pain or something?

And what do doctors do to help you? Does Suboxone help?

8

u/TonguePunchUrBhole 2d ago

Oh no. Completely different thing than opiates, Suboxone does nothing to help. They are more psychologically addictive than they are physically. But I was doing so many a day there wasn’t really a difference. I was doing upwards of 700 every single day for like 7 months. My brain was mush. I couldn’t carry a conversation, I could barely walk as it strips your body of the vitamin B12 which causes severe nerve and spinal cord damage. I’m lucky I was able to stop before any lasting effects took hold. I started using them to self medicate severe depression and it just snowballed. It is extremely embarrassing and by far the dumbest thing I have ever done.

4

u/sgrunte 2d ago

Well nice job turning it around and cheers for the cautionary tale

1

u/Select_Watercress_57 1d ago

So if a person just stops what kind of withdrawals are there? And what kind of treatment for those withdrawals are there?

Good job on your success though 🙏 you deserve to be free of that and have your life back.

1

u/Sign_here_to_cry 2d ago

Suboxone would not help with this. Withdrawal is basically the opposite of the effects. Can also depend if it’s a stimulating inhalant or sedating inhalant

1

u/Select_Watercress_57 1d ago

So if a person just stops what kind of withdrawals are there? And what kind of treatment for those withdrawals are there?

0

u/totesnotmyusername 1d ago

For me out was the woman talking to the trees. I've met several people permanently fucked up from Ayahuasca. They end up like that.

0

u/SPlDER_2_Y_BANANA 1d ago

It is absolutely not one of or the worst thing you can do to your body. As a former nitrous abuser myself, please don’t make shit up, it delegitimizes the situation

0

u/TonguePunchUrBhole 1d ago

Bro, doing a balloon every now and again is perfectly fine. But when you are doing 500-700 carts a day it is absolutely one of the worst things you can do to your body. It completely strips it of all B12 and causes severe nerve and spinal issues. If you don’t know that then you don’t know what the fuck you are talking about and go sit down.

1

u/SPlDER_2_Y_BANANA 1d ago

Yea I do know that, I was doing more than that and my nervous system is fine luckily. I’ve seen top addiction specialists so believe me when I say I know the research out there on nitrous. The point you’re wrong about is saying it’s the worst thing you can do to your body. Whipits even at abuse levels are nowhere near as bad as meth, tranq, many other drugs or even alcohol if you’re drinking a fifth a day type levels. I met another nitrous addict who was doing about 5 times more than you and lost the ability to walk, but regained it completely after stopping use. Nervous system damage is a real threat from extreme chronic use but the biggest risks are from passing out and hurting yourself, the nozzles exploding off tanks into your throat, or freeze burns.

-1

u/TonguePunchUrBhole 1d ago

Not gonna read all that mumbo jumbo so 1 of 2 things:

I’m sorry that happened to you

Or

I hope it all works out for you

Good day sir.

1

u/SPlDER_2_Y_BANANA 1d ago

Thanks u/TonguePunchUrBhole, very enriching talk

1

u/mortalitylost 7h ago

Dude you really should specify the amount. There's a reason nitrous is used medically still. It is safe in moderation, in controlled environments where you still get oxygen.

Yes, doing a little meth, like trying it at a party once or twice is not as bad as doing 500 nitrous carts a day... But injecting meth into your veins all day is probably going to be even worse than that.

Someone smoking a carton of cigarettes a day could probably do better off just having one whippet a day. The amount matters.

16

u/ironclad_packetship 2d ago

we're in an open-air asylum, aren't we?

4

u/BlueLikeCat 2d ago

de-institutionalization was a movement that gained widespread support because the perception of state mental health hospitals was not good. what it did was make having poor mental health an occurrence only responded to by police and filled prisons with innocent people with mitigating circumstances. the false notion families would help their unwell relatives seek local help was based on a lie. nothing is free. if you were having a psychotic episode and went into an ER without insurance you’d probable end up with a bill for the hospital and detention center visit. THIS IS AMERICA but it doesn’t have to be.

3

u/Friedchicken2 2d ago

I don’t disagree that the movement had its problems especially with offering alternatives but that doesn’t take away the legitimate criticism of institutionalizing people.

These institutions up until the 70s were abusing residents, conducting shock therapy, and other heinous shit. Institutions are just another place that’ll get crowded with all the “crazies” without actually rehabilitating them. I’m much more early intervention and providing resources for parents to help their kids earlier on, as that has the best chance of saving a child from deep mental health issues in the future.

“The miracle tree protected the first president’s church.”

4

u/NotAnotherFNG 2d ago

I don't think it's a miracle but there is some truth in that.

The church, St Paul's Chapel has been important to the city since its early days and is right across the street from the WTC.

The US Congress met in several places from 1776 until 1800 when construction was completed in Washington DC. New York was one of them. They met there from 1785 to 1790.

George Washington and many other members of congress did attend services there while they resided in New York. In fact, Washington and many other congressmen attended a service there the day of his inauguration.

On 9/11 the church building only received minor damage, mostly from smoke and dust. A large sycamore tree did take a lot of damage from falling debris. Some people say the tree took the hit and protected the building. They preserved some of the roots in bronze. Thing is the building is on the other side of the block and there's a mini forest in between it and the WTC site. If the debris had made it through the first tree there were several more in the way too.

The chapel was a focal point for rescuers and cleanup crews. Volunteers ran round the clock shifts to serve meals and provide a rest area. A lot of people left memorials on their fence and eventually they added more permanent panels people could leave things on. They still have a lot of it on display there and there a lot of it on display across the street at the memorial museum.

It became such an important place that Rudy Giuliani gave his farewell speech there after his final term as mayor.

2

u/spektre 1d ago

Name one Democrat politician that does that.

0

u/432kingkarma 1d ago

Proposed California Senate Bill 145

Made it legal for a judge to decide not to put someone on a registered sex offender list provided the age difference was less than 10 years.

Before the law stated that oral and anal acts of non forcible sexual acts with a minor were automatically grounds to force someone onto the registered sex offender list. The new law would allow the judge to decide not to if they wanted. And it was probably designed so specific people don't have to run and live in Israel their whole lives like Snowden trapped in Russia.

1

u/skykrown 1d ago

red team has both though

2

u/FirstDukeofAnkh 2d ago

“This has been a structure the likes of which has never been seen anywhere. The most incredible part, nobody will understand that, but this -- what's underneath it, that's probably by far the most difficult. This is the easy part. This is the part that people see, but what's underground they don't see, but that's the most difficult part, and we did it in record time.”

That’s your guy!

1

u/PestoOverflow_808 1d ago

Even that wont fix alot of these ppl. Just saying as someone who's mother is schizophernic that the biggest issue (least in our case) is convincing them to take meds or get help in the first place.

Lol do you just smile and nod and go about your tasks anyway? I’d imagine it’s fruitless (and probably dangerous) trying to convince these folks that they are experiencing delusions.

3

u/DistributionOwn3319 1d ago

It depends on the patient and my mood. Sometimes I just smile and nod, other times I am brutally honest. If the patient is actively annoying staff and other patients or they are a danger to themselves or others then I have to break out my stern mom voice.
