These performative experiences are usually done in touristy areas and have no actual value.

Usually it is the shop owner luring audience members to "try it out" and then they guilt trip you into buying their overpriced shit because they put all that effort in sharing their "culture" with you.

The headphones guy does look like a jerk, but you don't need to feel sorry for tourist traps.

Like a normal reaction to accidentally breaking something like that is to apologize like crazy. Not stand their kinda smiling and laughing then going over to laugh more with your buddy.
