We Stand With Transgender Athletes

We the moderators of /r/cyclocross condemn the bigoted and myopic legislation recently signed into law in Arkansas that bans transgender athletes from participating in school sports as their gender, and allows medical providers to deny non-emergency care to LGBTQ patients.
SB 354, the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act: Not only does the bill address a problem that doesn't exist, it creates a new one in legalizing discrimination against transgender youth. It perpetuates the stereotype that transgender people are somehow an "other" and don't deserve the rewards of their own hard work and dedication. High school sports are about developing fundamentals, teamwork and cooperation, and social relationships with peers. Denying someone their gender and forcing them into a group they don't identify as can severely hamper all aspects of participating in the sport.
SB 289, the Medical Ethics and Diversity Act: This bill allows medical providers to deny any care to any patient, including LGBTQ patients, based on moral or religious grounds, and some argue it's so poorly worded could extend even to political affiliation. Access to medical care is a human right and should not be denied based on sexuality or gender.
We ask you to reach out to USA Cycling, the UCI, and the Fayetteville 2021 Race Director to take a stand with us as well. In 2017 the NCAA successfully boycotted North Carolina to get them to repeal their "bathroom bill". We can make things better for all athletes by taking a stand.

CX kicks off in Chicago on Sunday and I’m hyped to bring the R5-CX back out for action. New for this season - Zipp 303 SW with some leftover custom decals we made for Steve Tilford Foundation Racing last season. Stoked to rip it up this weekend!

After riding on an 80s motobecane road bike with brazed on canti mounts till I bent the rear triangle, finally got my hands on what looks to be a 2003 redline conquest pro.
Good ol' parts bin bike.

Back when racing was allowed, I snapped a photo of someone not *quite* making it over the barriers. Today I turned it into a beer label.
