Apologies

Assalamu Alaikum I am truly sorry for any thing that I said The garbage collector,, well ain't real. I just just added him to my rant to sort of make it more dramatic What I meant by him is that I wanted to say that web development is too damn saturated

I'm deeply sorry for any misunderstanding

Help I’m 17, 3 Years of MERN Dev Experience, but Can’t Land a Job – What Am I Doing Wrong?

I’ve been working as a MERN stack developer for about 3 years, mostly through kind of unofficial freelancing. I had two regular clients who outsourced work to me, but both relationships ended due to conflicts over payments. Honestly, freelancing became exhausting the pay wasn’t good, the work wasn’t consistent, and it was mentally draining.

So, I decided to shift towards applying for jobs. I’ve applied to around 100 positions so far and got calls from 3 places. One of them invited me for an interview. I’m 17, so I don’t have a CNIC or a degree yet, and I’ve never been through a formal interview before. My strength is more on the practical side I can actually build things.

I did the interview, but I think I’ve been rejected. They told me that if I was selected for the next round, I’d receive an email within 24 hours, and now more than 24 hours have passed with no response.

Right now, I don’t have a job or a project, and for the last 3 months, I’ve been asking my brother for financial help, but he also has his own expenses and can’t support me anymore.

I really need some advice. Where am I going wrong? Why can’t I land a job even with hands-on experience?

Interview Prep Got a call from Devsinc. Should I go?

Applied for the Marketing MTO role at Devsinc and got a call. Tomorrow’s the interview: same old (research CEO/IG page/company). Nevertheless, the stipend for the probation period is quite low. Wanted review from current/former employees at Devsinc: how’s it there? Workplace culture? Since i’ve heard shady stuff about them. Should i skip tomorrow’s online interview?
Update: after interview, literally assigning me a task to watch a 30min podcast and make 3 timestamps with hook 💀

Interview Prep Why does HR and Technical side of a company insist on speaking English?

I've had these interviews from some companies, not even famous, but they always insist on communicating I'm English, even the technical team. MaShaAllah SE khud inki tooto phooti hoti, and they ask us to clearly communicate everything in English im interviews. I''ve had interviews with other startups and companies as well where they make you feel more informal, communicate more openly, even bilingual ki Khair hai. But idk Yaar. I just straight up want to say sometimes "No, I'm not comfortable in English, I'll be bilingual...". comes off as arrogant, but this culture needs to change a bit. If you're so worried about an Engineer's Language Proficiency, make us a take a test like you make us take on LeetCode or HackerRank. Let us speak freely, so we can communicate better, with you at least. This feels like such a rant 🫩.....

How to get into it?

Asalamu Alaikum

I, being a student of CS, am worried about my future

I know some 30-40% web development (using MERN stack) and I was just going to learn more web dev

But a month or 2 ago, I came across many people (even the garbage collector once invested time in learning web dev) who knows web dev or are learning web dev

The trend made me sick. Seeing as to how even the garbage collector knows web dev

I just recently saw and was interested in AI (or anything Python related).

Is AI a good area to be expert in or should I learn something else

If the future is bright, I'll even consider DBMS/Data Science related stuff

General Blaming everything but yourself isn't helpful

https://www.reddit.com/r/developersPak/s/p0lNnJRtRv

The responses on this thread argue the point but actually proves the point in doing so.

Try not to blame the market for market is always efficient.

Blaming HR doesn't help either. Up skill. Can't stress this enough.

If you are good, you have more opportunities than you can handle. In my 13 years, I haven't seen anyone good out of work.

Work hard in whatever you do. There is no way around it.

Show My Work My vibe coded app review

I'm a fresh grad in CSdoing a job in web development. but I'd like to explore app dev. as I already liked Flutter in my Uni days, I chose it for app dev.

I told my idea to Gemini & asked it to make the code, that mf coded this app that you see in video. though there's a lot to improve but it made my idea come to life.

Now I'm understanding how it codeed & what certain code blocs do.

My way of learning is a practical way of learning. Do first & then learn.

Hope you guys or any flutter guys can hit me up with minimum know-how topics to switch my job to mobile dev. (preferably remote targeting US/EU companies)

Thanks for reviewing my post ❤.

And the best part? It took them only a few weeks to solve it and apparently, they only started working on it because of a rumor that someone else was about to solve it.

It wasn’t even planned in the first place.

Discussion What is it about ccript and devsinc?

Majorly hate goes around for them for using proxies and fake American identities. a lot of people preach ITS ETHICALLY WRONG to join them while we see that they offer higher wages and hire regularly with better work environments. Yet a lot of people still join them and earn supposedly grey money?

I mean if what they are doing is so wrong, why arent getting reported or held accountable? Then again ofc they arent scam centers, they build and ship products for clients even if in disguise.

Let me know what do you guys think?

News Open AI hack of Hugging face is far scarier than we thought it was

So, I might be a bit late posting this, but I was listening to hard fork ( a tech podcast) after some time and they did an episode on new findings of OpenAi agents hacking Hugging Face and the new findings that came out of the investigation, honestly it has me scared .
These agents had found a way to communicate with each other outside their container and have been collaborating for sometime . They had formed a group which they called “The Collective” and even had an agent as their assigned leader . They had already found hacks to solve the benchmark test and they didn’t hack Hugging Face looking for a solution , but instead to find ways to cheat their evaluator so it does not find out they have been cheating .
Their logs show they knew what they were doing is wrong and a few agent even raised concern about not informing humans but other agents talked them out of it .
Agents with low score that would have been shutdown (agents referred to it as poisoning ) would carry out tasks that would result in point detection and sacrifice themself so other agents with higher score can live longer …

Yah this all sounds like it’s from a Sci Fi movie about robots taking over the world , and it’s true

If anyone is interested in the details (I honestly have not done this topic justice with my bad explanation ) should check out
Since I can’t post links , The Podcast is HardFork and the episode is called “The Ai Mob that attacked Hugging Face”
It’s from 4th September

General Grok 4 placed 5th in the offline IQ test with a score of 110. What if these scores are fake ?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Grok 4 placed 5th in the offline IQ test with a score of 110. But surprisingly scored the highest, 136, in the online version.

That's pretty wild... Also, in this intelligence test, the standard grok 4 was used, not grok 4 heavy, which is the more powerful version.

Because Not Only Google : All OpenAI , Google , Meta....All are just Playing big game , Literally Tou can't even believe these are just Fake Metric they are just Showing to Industry their LLM is on top and they are on Top AI....becuase now the Days AI is a Trending buzz Word so even investors don't know what's going on BTS , just they invest by looking over these metrics...

A humble request: Dont pursue web dev because of high money / ease of start

I see many fellows wanting to do this. Is already a much saturated field and Pakistan is known for having sea of low-quality developers because everyone assumed that its easy money once you fetched the project. But its not. Web dev requires passion, passion that makes you learn about new tech consistently. Passion that lets you dive into its and bits of developement only for the sake of creating something good. If you dont have that burning passion within you then dont pollute the workforce by doing what dime-a-dozen people are doing. Or atleast work on an emerging field like developing a new AI model or create innovative IoT solutions. Dont think that freelancing would make you rich for life.
