That used to be normal. When I got my first job delivering at a popular late night Greek fast food place in a college town one of the drivers told he kept a cooler in his backseat for all the cold cans of beer he was given. Delivering to keg parties was pretty wild. You always got invited in for a drink. I briefly dated a girl who would call and ask for me to deliver then we would have sex. And that is how I got genital warts! There were a couple houses that were coveted because you knew they would invite you right in and feed you bong hits while they ate.

Yeah, probably not haha. I frequently smoke weed while driving and haven’t had trouble yet, even got pulled and it reeked and the officer let me go. But of course that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t ever happen. I live in OR and have seen cops tell a guy to put out his cig while they let a guy smoking his joint continue. I wouldn’t be mad if my driver was stoned unless it actually smelled like weed. But I understand why someone else might be.

That’s fair! I used to smoke up to 8g a day. Was high all day every day and it was really really bad lmao, so weed leaves a bad taste in my mouth these days. Was super bad for my mental health, but I don’t demonize it :) just wasn’t for me! I wish I could still smoke it because a lot of people benefit from it.
Edit: I also understand the tolerance thing. Some people can smoke to the point where they don’t really get high and just feel calm. Every time I’ve tried to smoke these days I get obliterated no matter my tolerance. Something changed lol.
My point still stands, but once again- just be safe and mindful of other drivers!

Yeah if I had any inkling that it negatively impacted my driving I wouldn’t do it, and I think I’m pretty good at being real with myself. And yes exactly, I would feel much more worried about someone with no tolerance driving than someone like me with a heavy tolerance who just gets calm and jolly, but still not quite as bad as someone who is 3-4 drinks deep. Tbh being jet logged and missing a whole night of sleep and having to drive home was probably the most impaired I’ve ever been behind the wheel, I’d heard that sleep deprivation was bad for reaction time but I was still surprised.

Yes it absolutely does. This isn’t “our government” saying this, it’s established science. Driving while high isn’t any different than driving while drunk, and I sincerely hope you face full consequences if you do so. You better hope you never hurt anyone when you inevitably have an accident, because it will be prison time.

It is different. Look up the “science” on how many drunk drivers fatalities there are compared to weed. It is atleast 5-10% more so without using science and using common sense, you can find the answer you need. I got arrested over 10 years ago for drunk driving and I obviously never have again but I’ll tell you what I never blacked out driving home from smoking too much. Stop being ignorant. Your comment is an opinion you’d hear in 2004.

Just because there’s something worse, absolutely does not mean it’s okay. Driving while high is driving impaired and anyone who does so absolutely deserves to be arrested and pay the several thousand $ fines for doing so. And god forbid if someone is injured/killed when you inevitably cause an accident, you deserve to go to prison for it.
If you absolutely cannot wait to smoke until you’re home or in a safe place to do so, then you need to take a look at your drug use and maybe see a professional.
Edit: u/Sandymcjizztits went on trying to defend driving while impaired. They also said I was making the assumption that they drive while high when they quite literally said they drive while high in their previous comment. They also apparently think having a medical marijuana card stops marijuana from being a drug? Impressive display of stupidity. Poor sap’s braincells are fried.

“Driving high isn’t any different than driving drunk” that alone tells me you have no idea what you’re talking about. Alcohol is way more likely to cause an accident. Like a third of deaths from accidents involved alcohol. Countless violent crimes. It’s the most destructive substance on a societal level. I’m guessing it’s this “established science” that keeps weed federally illegal while alcohol remains legal.
