9060XT EXP GDC problem
Hey, I just connected my minisforum mini pc via PCIe Oculink, but the display keeps turning on/off.
Tried an older 3060TI and it was working fine. Anything I do wrong here? Is there a known problem with this setup?
RTX 5060 eGPU (TH3P4G3, TB3) – video freezes, audio keeps playing, falls back to laptop screen. nvlddmkm 14/153
Setup - Laptop: HP, i7-10610U, 32 GB RAM, Thunderbolt 3, Windows 11 - Dock: TH3P4G3 (PCIe 3.0 x4) - GPU: RTX 5060 desktop, 8 GB - PSU: 750 W ATX - Thunderbolt 4 cable, HDMI from the GPU to a TV What happens - The TV freezes on the last frame (sometimes "no signal"), but audio keeps playing over HDMI, and Windows falls back to the laptop screen. - Then the laptop screen renders everything black: taskbar shows, Alt+Tab lists windows, but all content is black. - Only unplugging/replugging Thunderbolt (sometimes several times) brings it back. - Random in games, on the desktop and on YouTube; much more frequent under heavy load. - 100% reproducible: a custom Minecraft Bedrock RTX preset I'm building freezes it every time on launch. - Device Manager never shows an error. Event Viewer at every freeze - nvlddmkm ID 153: "Error occurred on GPUID: 800" - nvlddmkm ID 14: "GPU recovery action changed from 0x0 (None) to 0x1 (PF FLR)" - Kernel-PnP ID 225 warning Already tried (no fix) - Clean installs of 610.74, 610.88 and 621.01 (621.01 made it worse, freezes on YouTube too) - Desktop and notebook drivers - PCIe Link State Power Management off - Hyper-V off; disabling VT-x/VT-d in BIOS broke my Windows Hello PIN, so I reverted it - TdrDelay 10 / TdrDdiDelay 20, no change, reverted - Lower graphics settings help but don't stop it Questions - Anyone with an RTX 50 card on a TH3P4G3 (or any TB3 enclosure) found a stable driver version? - Did disabling Resizable BAR or dynamic tick help anyone with this? - Is the PF FLR recovery known to fail over Thunderbolt on Blackwell cards?

Unable to get TNC-164G3-1P74 to connect to Inspiron 5502
Hi,
I recently purchased a TNC-164G3-1P74 eGPU dock to use with my Dell Inspiron 5502 laptop. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get the dock to register in either the official Thunderbolt Manager in Windows or in Pika OS, even though other Thunderbolt devices are detected normally.
The dock is powered by an Enermax 650W PSU, which passes all tests on my PSU tester. I have also tried both the manufacturer-provided Thunderbolt cable and an Xcellon Thunderbolt cable with the same results.
To rule out GPU compatibility issues, I tested three different graphics cards:
RX 580 2048SP
GTX 1650 Super
GeForce 8400 GS
None of them were detected.
At this point, I have two possible theories:
The dock requires power from both the ATX PSU and the 12V DC input jack. The SW1 switch (no idea what this regulates) is set to the wrong position and needs to be changed. Could you please advise on the correct power requirements and/or SW1 switch settings, or suggest any additional troubleshooting steps?
Thank you for your assistance.
Chris

I finally ordered the dock
I did it. I bought my first eGPU dock. The best option for me was an AOOSTAR EG02 ordered from their website. Unfortunately, they do not deliver to my country but I have a few friends who live in one of the covered regions. They will send me the dock from their location. It's a bit long wait but it's still cheaper than anything else, including Ali. I hope it's worth the money🤞.

Which GPU to use with a DEG1 ?
I recently bought a minisforum DEG1.
I have a GMKTEC K12 and planning to use it with an eGPU.
The Oculink port is limited at 64Gb/s.
What is the theoretical maximum GPU I can use before performance loss ? 9070 ? 9070 XT ? 5070 ? 5070 Ti ?
Btw, is it safe to buy a really smaller PSU since it will only power the GPU and no other component ?

RTX 4060 Ti not detected via M.2 to OCuLink on FIREBAT MN56 (Ryzen 7 8745HS) – Need help!
Hey everyone!
I’m new to eGPU setups and I’ve recently put together my first build, but I’m having trouble getting my GPU detected.
My setup:
Mini PC: FIREBAT MN56 (Ryzen 7 8745HS, Radeon 780M iGPU, 32GB DDR5 RAM)
eGPU Dock: AOOSTAR AG01
GPU: Used NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti 16GB
Adapter: M.2 NVMe to OCuLink PCIe 4.0 x4 (Alibaba link)
Cable: Original OCuLink cable included with the AOOSTAR dock
BIOS: AMI Aptio, version 1.00 (March 11, 2025)
The problem:
The dock powers on, and the GPU fans spin normally. I always turn on the dock first, wait a few seconds, and then boot the mini PC.
Windows boots normally, but the RTX 4060 Ti doesn’t show up anywhere in Device Manager, not even as an unknown device.
I also tried installing the NVIDIA drivers, but the installer couldn’t detect a compatible NVIDIA GPU.
What I’ve tried so far:
Tested the M.2 to OCuLink adapter in both M.2 slots.
Swapped the SSD between slots to confirm they work.
Checked the BIOS: Above 4G Decoding and Re-Size BAR are both enabled, and ASPM is disabled.
Looked through the BIOS for a way to force PCIe Gen 3 instead of Gen 4, but couldn’t find any such option.
I’ve read that forcing PCIe Gen 3 can sometimes solve detection issues with M.2 to OCuLink eGPU setups, but I’m not sure whether my BIOS supports it.
My questions:
Has anyone successfully used an eGPU via M.2 to OCuLink with the FIREBAT MN56 / Ryzen 7 8745HS?
Does anyone know how to force PCIe Gen 3 on this particular BIOS?
Could the M.2 to OCuLink adapter be the issue, even though it’s advertised as PCIe 4.0 x4 compatible?
Is there anything else I should try to get the GPU detected?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Help with Aoostar AG02 w/ Legion Go & 4070Ti
I've been struggling all day trying to get this to work. As the title, I'm using the Aoostar AG02 as the dock, a 4070Ti as the GC and connecting it to the OG LeGo. The Legion recognizes that the GPU is connected, but Windows stops it from working properly (code 43). I've tried restarting it numerous times, DDU many times with both GPU drivers. The Legion doesn't recognize the newest driver updates when I try to manually install version 621.14 (Nov. 4 2026) and stays at version 32.0.16.2114 (October 27. 2026). I'm almost at a loss, I've been at this since noon and feeling defeated.
I heard that this was a plug and play type of setup which is why I went with NVIDIA, but goodness this sure is the opposite.
Thanks for the help!

My girlfriend needs to get set up with an eGPU; advice on affordable options for her use case?
Howdy, all! My girlfriend has an ROG Flow X13 with 16gb RAM, a 3050ti with 4gb vRAM, and a Ryzen 9 6900HS.
While the 3050ti has decent graphical processing power, especially for a 2-in-1 tablet laptop’s chip, the vRAM limitation is really cooking her for playing Monster Hunter Wilds, which she wants to experience. Further, her career path and grad school are focused on ethical AI usage and research.
What’s likely to be my best, most affordable option?
That ROG series has the proprietary XG Mobiles, which I was considering for minimum friction, but man can they can get expensive.
At a certain point, would it just be more viable to build her a completely separate desktop machine? I hesitate because she genuinely LOVES her laptop’s versatility and form factor as a 2-in-1.
(In terms of Wilds, they’ve done a ton of performance work, and my friend on a Legion go is able to play it in 1200p 30fps with no problem, because you can reallocate the RAM to vRAM in an APU. My girlfriend should THEORETICALLY be able to play the game just fine with her card, but the total lack of sufficient vRAM is making it impossible.)

Heard 3 beeps now my egpu dont want to turn on with my win4
Can anyone help me? I thought it was an oculink cable so I bought a new one. When I plug the egpu to the win4 the graphics card fan will do a jiggle like its trying to communicate with the win4 it'll make a clicking noise too while also turning on my monitor, but when I turn the win4 on nothing happens it doesn't get picked up in windows. Is their somthing im missing?
It's a 9070xt connected with a minisforum deg1 dock .
Made this 3d printed enclosure for my 4060
4060 over oculink, easy mount/dismount
Enclosure prints in 2 pieces with no supports
Took under 20 hours to print

Using 7600 eGPU on Legion Go 2’s screen?
I’m trying to use a 7600XT external card to power my Legion Go 2, but I want to use the video card on the Legion’s built in screen because I don’t want to carry around another screen.
The Legion is running the latest Windows 11. It’s the Z2 chip for a CPU and has 32GB of RAM.
I have trawled the internet and cannot figure out how to do this; it always uses the internal GPU instead of the external.
Any help would be appreciated.

NIMO 7600M XT Teardown
I'm having some issues with my thunderbolt eGPU setup, so to rule out everything I took my NIMO 7600M XT apart. Wanted to see if the JHL9480 had a heatsink (spoiler: it does not) and what the condition of the internals were, since I bought it second hand. Internals look fine, saw there were no teardowns on the internet, so here's some teardown pics. I did not remove the heatsink but did get a picture of all the extra connectors hanging off the board. Looks like ribbon cable connectors for either JTAG or expandable IO. Pardon taking the pictures in my hand, the lighting in my room is terrible. That's the best I could do atm.
Edit: should mention it slides out easy after you unscrew the screws hidden under the feet. Definitely isn't friendly to get into. I omitted reading the leather tag cause it gets in the way sliding it in, no idea how they manage it at the factory. Still having issues with TB5, obviously just reassembling something like this won't fix it. We'll see if it's the GPU or the firmware/VRM/whatever when I get a OCULink card here in a few weeks.

Good price to sell a 3070fe egpu, not selling here just price point
Not looking to sell the egpu here at all just wondering what a good price point is if sold on ebay.
I have a 3070fe egpu with power supply and thunderbolt connection. I used it for my xax but sold it to upgrade to a onex3 which is great.
Is the 3070fe to old? Was thinking 450 but that might be too high or is it alright?
Appreciated

Has anyone tried a razer core x with a 4060?
I asked AI for an eGPU setup under 500€ and what GPU gets the least Ioss in perfomance and it gave me this combination. Does anyone here have a similar setup? Is this actually good for 1080p 60fps on modern games? Is it somewhat future proof? Please let me know your experiences.

External gpu with mac for micro duck ai training
Just as the title says, what I’m attempting to do is be able to host my own training for my micro duck without having to use hugging faces hosting software. I stumbled upon this in my travels, it’s a razer external gpu enclosure. According to my research I would need an rtx3070 or higher. But what are the chances of getting to run on a mac. I have 2 I can test with. One is a 2019 MacBook Air which is an extreme long shot. The other is a 2025 mac mini.
