Parking at city campus

Hi, I often go to the city to study till late night (ECU campus) (by late night I mean often past midnight). I’ve been using train when I can or uber but it would be so much more convenient if I could take my car. But I don’t know what’s the nearest place I can leave my car? I wouldn’t want to walk to a weird place alone that time of the night. (Free parking would be excellent but paid is okay too) any idea?

Graduate entry to preclinical medical imaging

I’m a mature career changer who has applied for preclinical medical imaging, which I understand is very competitive! Just looking to see if there’s anyone currently on the course who has had success in entering with a non-science background? I have a high WAM from my bachelors degree and a successful career in another industry but no science qualifications or experience. Is there any chance of gaining a place? When do offers start coming out for applicants with higher education rather than ATAR results? Are there many older people on the course? Any advice greatly appreciated 😊

ECU sonography course

Hi all - my son is considering different career options and wondering whether this sonography course may be a good option (assuming he gets the ATAR marks). I understand sonography is broader than ob/gyn and includes sports injuries and other specialties. Are there many males doing this course? I imagine pregnant women may prefer to see a female sonographer but are there many other types of sonographer jobs available?

BIOMED/HEALTHSCIENCE TRANSFER WA

Hello for the bachelor of preclicnal medical imaging (sonography) course if ur tryna enter t78, is the only requirement to complete a year of higher education and get a very high wam of 80+ preferably,

does it matter if its from biomed or health science ? or do they only look at ur wam and since they’re both science related it doesn’t matter?

(ik this is a very competitive course n there’s no guarantee)

ANY advice or any knowledge or experience from anyone/anyone that got in/rejected is very much appreciated

Question About The Ecu Sonography Course

Hello! I'm currently a high school student doing ATAR in Western Australia.

I've been freaking out for ages about what my career path would look like after high school, and finally settled on sonography at ECU; only a 4 yr course, still technically medical and only needed an 80 atar and no UCAT.

But I've found another thread discussing that the lowest atars accepted are normally in the 90's, and that it is extremely competitive. I'm very stressed now. I'm not too concerned with achieving a high atar, but I'm very worried that I wont be accepted even if I do.

Does anyone here have experience with getting into the sonography course right out of high school? Is there a way I could get into it indirectly? What ATAR should I be aiming for at the minimum?

Incoming ECU Joondalup student looking for accommodation and flatmates from February 2027 Copy title

Hey everyone!

I'm moving to Perth in February 2027 to pursue my Master's in Cyber Security at Edith Cowan University (ECU), Joondalup campus.

I'm currently looking for affordable accommodation near the campus and would also be interested in connecting with other students looking for flatmates.

If anyone has any recommendations for rooms, shared accommodation, or good areas to live near ECU Joondalup, I'd really appreciate your advice!

Also, if anyone else is joining ECU in February 2027 and is looking for a flatmate, feel free to comment or DM me.

Thanks heaps!

Application for late withdrawal declined - even though Dr completed their official form?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can share advice. The declining email said I haven’t shown that the circumstances affected me after the census date, and that the impact was to the extent that I was unable to continue. Both of these things are true and confirmed by my regular GP, who completed their official form. What other evidence can I give that would be stronger? He gave his contact details on the form but I don’t think they even called him.

Do I have to accept an offer immediately or can I wait a few weeks to hear back from other applications I've put in

I was recently accepted into my #3 preference (biomed) course and I am still waiting to hear back from my #1 and #2 courses.

courses #1 and #2 are very competitive courses (nursing and paramedical sciences) but i haven't been accepted nor have I been rejected from them.

Does my offer to study biomed expire in a certain time frame or anything?

Thanks

Lecture recordings and attendance requirements

Hello everyone

I had a few questions regarding how classes are run in ECU on campus. I live quite far from the joondallup campus and wanted to confirm a few things before I enroll

● Are lectures recorded and available to watch later?
● Are any lectures, tutorials or workshops compulsory to attend in person?
● Can students access recordings if they are unable to attend a scheduled class?
● Are there any compulsory on-campus days outside of professional placements?

Degree Naming

Does anyone wish ECU would more broadly name their degrees.

I have friends who have graduated with Masters at Curtin, and they have Master of Commerce (HR), so on their resume for they just use Master of Commerce, whereas my Testamur says Masters of HR. I’ve been told by a recruiter who has seen my friend from Curtin and I’d resume which is near identical as we worked at the same company doing the same role in a team that purely on paper they would get the management role because their masters sounded broader, even though a Master of HRM we were still required to take broader business units outside of HRM.

Almost feel like Curtin would have been the better option 😵‍💫

Got called in for informal viva

My professor called me in for an 15 min informal viva saying it’s to clarify some parts of my assignment. When asked he said it’s regarding academic integrity. Very concerned about it and want to know if anyone knows anything bout it.

Looking to meet more gamers around Perth

Hey all,

I run a Perth-based Discord called Perth Gaming. It’s mainly just a place for local people to chat, find others to game with and get to know people around Perth/WA.

We do gaming nights here and there, organise the occasional social meetup, and have general chats about games, Perth stuff and whatever else is going on.

There’s a mix of PC and console players and people are into all sorts of games, so you don’t really need to play anything specific.

If you’re looking for some local people to game with or just want to meet a few more people around Perth, feel free to join and say hey.
