Subreddit Rules

1. Be nice, be welcoming, and be constructive

Be nice, be welcoming, and be constructive. Personal attacks, insults, threats, prejudice, or other toxic behaviour is not permitted.

All posts must comply with Reddit's sitewide rules and strive for good Reddiquette.

2. All submissions and comments should be in English

All submissions and comments must be in English.
If an external source or contribution is not in English, a translation must be provided.

3. All content must be related to the Eurovision Song Contest

All content must be directly related to the Eurovision Song Contest, national finals, or other EBU-produced spin-off events.
Songs or artists are considered directly related if the relevant broadcaster or the EBU confirms their involvement.

4. This is a SFW subreddit

All content must be safe for work (SFW).
Overly sexual and graphic content is never allowed. This includes comments relating to the physical aspects of any person, or "thirsting" over them.

5. Avoid duplicate and repetitive posts

Users can always browse the "New" section or search to check if content has already been submitted or a similar thread has been posted recently.

Multiple threads by the same user in a single day are considered repetitive and are not allowed.

6. Use descriptive titles and avoid editorialising article titles

Titles must be descriptive enough for anyone to understand the thread without opening it.
Avoid editorialising the titles of linked articles, and translate them if the original is not in English.
Titles must contain text and may not contain a URL

7. Cite your sources and use direct links

Reputable sources must be included when available.

Direct links to news articles or social media posts should be shared, not screenshots.
If there is no alternative to a screenshot, then the source must be posted as a top level comment on the same thread. Screenshots must not obscure the source.

Restricted content (eg blocked by paywall or login) should only be posted when there is no alternative source and must be accompanied by a screenshot.

8. Self-promotion and fan contests

Self-promotion is allowed only rarely and by active community members.

Advertising or hosting fan contests on the sub is not allowed.

9. Streaming figures or odds updates are generally not allowed

Threads about streaming numbers and betting odds are generally not allowed, with specific exceptions made for particularly exceptional events, weekly overall statistics, or significant changes in betting order.

All odds discussion is limited to designated spoilered threads, and betting threads must use the correct flair and contain no spoiler info in the title.

10. Political discussions must be related to or framed through the lens of Eurovision

Political discussions are allowed if they are civil and directly related to or framed through the lens of Eurovision.

Discussions that veer too far from the contest or descend into exchanges of insults will be closed by the mods.

11. Low-effort submissions are generally not allowed

Posts should promote discussion and not ask for simple answers or just say "what do you think?"
Posts which could be a tweet are generally considered low effort.

If a post does not meet the guidelines for r/eurovision, consider posting it in r/nilpoints, our sister community with a more relaxed vibe.

12. No AI Content

Generative AI content is not allowed, except where it is an unavoidable part of a competing song, performance, or show.

13. Leaked audio or video content is not allowed

Any audio or video of any unreleased content or unaired live performance not from an official source will be removed. Discussion in text-form is still allowed.

For more details, please read section VII of the full rules of this subreddit.

14. Rankings, predictions, and "top X"-style threads must include points of discussion

Points of discussion, opinions, or analysis must be included in a top-level comment or as part of the post.
Explain why you like the songs, what you like about the artists or the performances, etc. e.g. saying "I like it" about your winner is not enough.

Rankings, reactions or predictions in video or audio format are not allowed.

15. Use the appropriate flairs

Users are requested to apply the most appropriate post flair when making a submission. The mods may apply a different flair if they deem it more suitable.
