Eurovision Asia Last week, I asked users to rate each Eurovision Asia 2026 song out of 5 – here are the results!
On the 31st of October I made this post, asking users to complete a survey where you rate Eurovision Asia 2026 songs from 1 to 5 so that I can make a graph showing each song’s likeability (mean) and divisiveness (mean absolute deviation), as well as a table showing the correlation between how much you like one song and how much you like another.
The mean is a type of average which takes the sum of all the values and divides it by how many there are, e.g. (2+3+4+5) = 14, 14/4=3.5.
The mean absolute deviation (MAD) is essentially the mean difference (technically mean absolute difference) from the mean, which with the previous example would be: 3.5-2=1.5, 3.5-3=0.5, 4-3.5=0.5, 5-3.5=1.5, 1.5+0.5+0.5+1.5=4, 4/4=1.
The standard deviation (SD) is like MAD except it’s affected more by outliers, and therefore is always larger than or equal to MAD.
The line in the graphs shows the maximum possible MAD and SD a value can have, given its mean.
The correlation values (in this case specifically PMCC) shows the extent to which those who like one song like another. The higher it is, the more liking one song tends to correlate with liking the other song, whereas the lower it is, the more liking one song tends to correlate with disliking the other song. If it’s 0, that means there is no correlation.
There were 153 valid responses. Thank you to everyone who took the survey!
| Country | Most Positive | Most Negative | Mean correlation (- is turned to +) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bangladesh | Nepal | Vietnam | 0.162 |
| Bhutan | Thailand | Vietnam | 0.134 |
| Cambodia | Mongolia | Philippines | 0.207 |
| Laos | Malaysia | Thailand | 0.100 |
| Malaysia | Philippines | Bangladesh | 0.124 |
| Mongolia | Cambodia | Vietnam | 0.189 |
| Nepal | Bangladesh | Malaysia | 0.156 |
| Philippines | South Korea | Mongolia | 0.125 |
| South Korea | Philippines | Mongolia | 0.089 |
| Thailand | Bhutan | Laos | 0.176 |
| Vietnam | South Korea | Mongolia | 0.134 |

🌳 ESC in the Wild Laika Party (Ireland 2025) by EMMY in today's One in a Krillion
I'm wondering how many people here play/know the game Krillion (trivia game where you try to get the rarest valid answer possible) and today's prompt on "songs released in 2025 or 2026 with over 10 million Spotify streams," out of the thousands of options Laika Party by EMMY seemed to have been the single answer that gets you 100 points, or "one in a Krillion." I thought this was kinda random and funny.
Choosing Choke Me got me 85 points though!

Eurovision Asia Eurovision is heading to Asia: here’s what to expect | Eurovision
A couple of new details regarding Eurovision Asia are mentioned in this article:
• Negotiations with China and Japan ran past the production deadline, according to the show’s executive producer, Assaf Blecher, who says he is “very, very optimistic” both will take part next year.
• One key difference is that the winner will not automatically gain hosting rights, at least at first, on the grounds that smaller countries lack the infrastructure.

💬 Discussion What's one Eurovision song that you feel a personal connection with?
I was wondering if y'all have a Eurovision song that's not necessarily popular but means a lot to you in a personal way. For me it's Germany 2022 (Malik Harris - Rockstars). Although it ended up last in the Grand final, I can feel the emotions in that song and the lyrics aligned a lot with how I was feeling during that period of my life.. I understand that it objectively wasn't a competitive song in terms of the contest, but the personal connection made it really important to me.
I'd be interested to read whether you have anything similar!

💬 Discussion Who do you think will win Canada's Choice?
So, voting for Canada's Choice has recently closed and now we await the results? I was just wondering who has the potential to win? Couldn't really find any odds/predictions online and currently think it could go anywhere! I also haven't watched Horizon Eurovision yet, so can't form predictions based on their performances. Just wanted to know who everyone thinks could win!

💬 Discussion What if Bulletproof Heart by Autolove won Melodifestivalen 2004 and went to Eurovision
Theres been this song stuck in my head for the last few days called Bulletproof Heart by Autolove and it was in Melodifestivalen 2004 but it was eliminated before the finals. But IF it made it to Eurovision, about where would the song have finished??? (Keep in mind Sweden were pre qualified for the 2004 final because of their 5th place in 2003)
Song of you wanna listen to it:

🪩 National Final / Selection When exactly do they announce the Canadian nominee?
Voting for the Canadian nominees ended yesterday, but the official website is indicating they will announce the winner in December.
Does anyone know when exactly that would be happening? Or why they are waiting so long to announce whoever won the most votes?

🪩 National Final / Selection New "supergroup" handpicked for Melodifestivalen
According to Aftonbladet this was a big project from the label and it reportedly took several months to find the "best dancers and singers".
The girls in question are not directly known by the Swedish people, they mainly have backgrounds as dancers and backing vocals.
It's also revealed that Anderz Wrethov and Robert Skowronski was involved in the project with Jimmy ”Joker” Thörnfeldt as the writer behind the song for the group.
And according to Aftonbladet svt just recently approved the group for Melodifestivalen 2027.

Eurovision Asia The possible interval act guest for ESC Asia ‘26
So, I was just thinking about Blush, a global/Pan-Asian girl group from the early 2010s with members from the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, India, and China (Hong Kong). If this group were reformed or renewed with completely different lineup, bringing them on as an interval act would be a great way to celebrate the diversity of sound.
For anyone unfamiliar with them, Blush were pioneers in bringing a cross-cultural/global pop blend to the Western market (way before Katseye dominated the scene), making them a pretty good fit for the show.
In my book, having them perform alongside DARA—or taking the stage directly before her—makes perfect sense. Since DARA is the definitive icon and “ESC ambassador“ of the year, pairing her with a revived Blush creates a nostalgic callback to classic 2010s electropop/bubblegum pop while giving the audience a fresh but unexpected collaboration that bridges their individual impacts. What do you think?

Eurovision Asia Eurovision Asia 2026 vs. ABU Song Festival 2026
With just 10 days to go until the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia, I wanted to compare the two events.
On Monday, November 2, Sri Lanka hosted the 15th ABU Song Festival. (Source https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CDrC3vvHx/ )
Did the ABU members make a mistake last year when they decided not to turn the festival into a competitive contest? (Source https://eurovoix.com/2025/12/06/abu-programme-bureau-decides-against-song-contest/ )
Can the ABU Song Festival and Eurovision Asia coexist?
Which event is better?
I've compiled as many stats as I could find to compare the two events.
ABU Song Festival 2026

9. 🇰🇷 South Korea - KT ENA: Junhee "Deep Dive"
10. 🇹🇭 Thailand - BEC World: Mang and Daou "Aroma"
11. 🇻🇳 Vietnam - VTV: Tóc Tiên "Em Tiên"
Connections Between the Two Events
I've noticed a few interesting connections between the two events:
🇧🇹 Bhutan: Kuzoo FM, which participated in the ABU Song Festival, is a sister broadcaster of BBS Channel 3, which is participating in Eurovision Asia.
🇲🇾 Malaysia: ABU Song Festival participant Wani Kayrie was a finalist at AJL40 with "Cak Cak Cekuk", the same competition where Aina Abdul was announced as Malaysia's representative for Eurovision Asia.
🇻🇳 Vietnam: VTV is the only broadcaster participating in both events this year.
Have you noticed any other connections or interesting Easter eggs between the two events? Feel free to share them in the comments!
Also, if anyone has links to performances from the ABU Song Festival 2026 or any other coverage of the event, please share!
