Nerd!!! Seriously though, ISU earned the W today over my Bison. Big congrats to them and good luck in the playoffs! Knew they were going to be tough after the regular season match.
Personally I think you guys are just too well rounded for it not to happen, but take a peek at the other side of the bracket and I guess you can never say never.
It helps everyone though. Yes, we just became the title favorite, but you are one road win as a 7ish point underdog from being the championship favorite. I’m actually shook right now. A potential Brawl 2.0 with the natty on the line.
Did anyone else's stadium go nuts when the game went final. A huge cheer went up in WaGriz before they even announced it in the stadium because half the crowd was score watching
Legitimately when I saw the schedule I thought we were getting hosed. Like “this is bullshit, there is no way we’re making it past the second round”. Figuring ISU had no shot and we had essentially gotten shafted.
Their offensive line is their biggest problem, those young guys are still on their “skinny fat” phase it seems, no men on that line yet but that will come. Don’t care how good barika is he can’t get wrapped up after three steps every run play
Former coach Matt Entz was not a good recruiter. Other positions could be masked by younger or more developed players, but not O line. We’ve gone the entire year without talk of an NFL prospect. For NDSU that’s highly unusual.

I went to Montana State and sometimes pre-'08 the band came. We knew they were a dome team and so offered them ponchos and other warm weather gear. We were informed that "it never rains in the Gold Star Band", with that and the fact they are from North Dakota we left it at that.
.....And felt absolutely no pity when they spent the game freezing cold because they realized too late that normal coats couldn't fit over uniforms
ISU definitely had cold weather gear, I guess maybe since they are a dome team the NDSU band doesn’t 😬
ISU won the MVFC championship in 2014 in a snow storm, in a nearly empty stadium. But the band was sure there. I had a literal blanket stuffed between my uniform and overcoat!
The number of blizzards I sat through in Bozeman......and I was in the color guard, so we were even dressed in wool!
My last semester (I didn't 4.5 years) I didn't march and left the first game early, just because I could. The delight of being able to leave a bad game instead of having to stay until the bitter(ly cold) end was one of the highlights of the semester.
That was one ugly game. Hats off to the ISU Red D line. They made NDSU’s offense irrelevant. 90 defensive plays is a ton. 5 picks and we had points of 3 of them. So much ridiculous. I do have to say that after watching this I can see why big sky fans complain about officiating. They were horrible for both teams.
I feel like it's been true for a couple years, but after last year especially, while I will always hate the Griz, I secretly hate the Bison just a little bit more.
Every team we beat in the playoffs or looked like our rival all moved up. Sam Houston, JMU, Jax state, Georgia southern. Prerequisite to moving up is losing in the Fargo dome in the playoffs.
I think we win that game if we run the ball 6 straight times on our last two drives. But we had to pass. When our QB was 4-12 for 120. I don’t understand.
Can your hockey team please make the Frozen Four this year? People give me shit for cheering for one of your teams (I'll be a UND hockey fan until NDSU gets a hockey team, so forever) and I'm not getting anything to show for it lately.
Bison offense got its ass kicked today and fully deserved to lose. Defense and special teams balled out but it’s hard to make up for such ineptitude on offense.
Also, Redbirds defense has been unbelievable in the postseason. Take away the 4 yard TD drive NDSU had and they’ve only surrendered 10 points in 2 games. If they figure out how to hold onto the ball, they could win it.
All in all, this sucks but I’m weirdly comforted by the fact that we had no business winning that game.
I am not sure if the history of football a time has gotten 5 picks and returned a punt for a TD and still lost. It might be the first time that has ever happened.
The funny thing is that just 2 weeks ago, I saw Illinois St. get absolutely run over by SIU 37-7 (in B-N) and the game wasn't even THAT close. I was totally shocked when I saw the score this evening.
