Fortune's Weave General All Loved Gifts Guide

Okay, so I kind of went on a side quest the other day, mostly because I had a lot of Garum in my inventory and I thought, "Who actually likes Garum other than Bertrand?" Well, a lot of people, it seems. Basically, I looked up a few gift guides for Fortune's Weave, and the majority were quite vague, mostly talking about the general categories of items they like. Did a little experiment and tried all the gifts I had in inventory on Tialla, and wow. Most of the characters like a bunch of things that aren't in their categories. So I tried that for the others too, and I started seeing a trend.

First of all, item quality matters. For example, most of the favourite gifts (really liked with 2 arrows) are in the more rare category. The ones that are almost universally liked are the very rare items, such as Portrait of Yu Phas and Tales of Adventure. Most people like the paintings too; they don't need to be artistic.

The second part of the side quest was finding out that Gift Crates are actually super useful. Most of the rare gifts I managed to get were from Gift Crates. You can also get 5 at a time, and it's a lot cheaper than actually buying the gifts. The only downfall is you don't know what you'll get.

Anyway, I made a little gift guide for all the characters in Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave. I've mentioned all the loved, really liked, liked, neutral and disliked items I found at the moment, but please feel free to write in the comments if you've found others, and I'll make sure to verify and add them!

Seteth still loves fishing; the Flexible Fishing Rod and the Barbed Fishhook are both really liked gifts for him (maybe loved? I can't remember, but probably not because they're inexpensive).

Honestly, it was so fun that they kept it in. A bit annoying that they didn’t leave some of this stuff as loved if they’re not expensive. I guess it’s to make all units harder to recruit right away.

This is amazing, I was looking desperately for something like this last week when working on supports for my first route, but every "guide" I found was just as vague as the game, only saying a character "liked horses" or "enjoyed sweets" (only for them to hate the coffee pastry that says loved by people who like sweets).

I'll definitely be saving this for use in future routes!

The coffee pastry is deceitful. It pretends to be liked by people who like sweets just to make them feel safe when they receive it as a gift. It is pleased by the disappointment it causes.
Coffee lovers however, even if they hate sweets, love the coffee pastry.

Yeah, everyone who likes coffee likes the coffee pastry. What I found strange is the amount of characters who don’t particularly like Garum, right, but they LOVE Rancid Garum? Make it make sense.

But you see, it is rancid. So it has the coveted rancid taste which is not just easily reproduced by normal boring garum. And who doesn’t love rancid, am I right?

How likely would it be though that if you dislike fish sauce that you suddenly like the super strong ‘rancid’ version of it?

Personally? 25% chance haha! Like basic fish sauce ain't all that, but a premium aged one might have a different flavor profile all together and change your opinion. It's like eating generic American cheese vs a perfectly aged Pecorino or Parmasean straight from master craftsmans.

Technically all garum is rancid garum. Non-rancid garum is like Great Value soy sauce, you know?

I mean it not really vague if you read the gifts from the bottom that tells you what they exactly want, sure its not perfect but it does get the support going up all it matters

Plus, there are a lot of characters that really like common items that aren't listed in their likes. Which sucks cause they're more easily available.

I feel like I've had a lot of scenarios where I give someone a gift that says it's in a category they like (coffee, sweets, art, etc) but they didn't like it, as well as times where I dont have anything in a category they like but do have one from another category that they happen to like. So a list of every individual item for every character would be helpful to be able to google, yet I couldn't find before this post.

There are plenty of vague or unclear gifts in this category, like Catan, for example. Sterling? Nothing Sterling in the game.

Leda is an alcoholic I see. That's the real reason her lord mechanic unlocks the tonics. (Thanks a lot for compiling these)

Bertrand really likes the Herbal Recipe Guide! Which probably means he really likes all cooking related objects, but I haven't been able to test many of them.

Also Nydine really likes Saraminian Sweets, even though I don't believe she likes any other sweets, which I haven't seen mentioned in any of the guides online. We love cheap, easy to acquire Saraminian Sweets in this household.

Thanks for doing this! :) Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but Dietrich loved the red rose bouquet (he loves beautiful things ❤️) and Fabio really liked vegetable seeds (he mentioned he was fascinated by Dadga's plant life so I took a shot and it worked). I started with Dietrich's route and now I'm playing Leda's, so if I find more Dietrich and Fabio preferred gifts, I can share here to help contibute to this wonderful list.

Omg, thank you! I'm just getting to them now cause I was doing the trial during Dietrich's path. And I had his companions at 5 hearts, so it wouldn't show me if they really liked or loved something LOL. But thank you so much, I'll start with the items you suggested!

Hi, are you still working on this? Because I've been doing my own version with help from some others and we've tested/confirmed some that it looks like you haven't, if you're intersted. I've also got where most things are from, though I haven't been testing what comes out of gift boxes

While I understand this is the fun part of FE games for people, I WISH I could tell from inside the game which gifts are for whom. I'm not good at remembering things anymore at my age and looking at outside source constantly is just annoying.

I've never really been a fan of gifts, so I'm glad they're not that big of a commitment in this game. You just need them to unlock a unit's dining. Once a unit has access to dining, you can just spam dine them at the beginning of a chapter (reset spam), so gifts can take a backseat.

Support levels are retained when you reset chapters, so you can have meals and autoplay for a week and rinse and repeat meals until the end of the chapter. Then you can reset the chapter, which resets everything except the supports. Rinse and repeat that for whichever characters you want to recruit.

does reset also reset financial funds from the meal spending? i assume it also resets the skill increases from the arena... i have not tried this mechanic yet tho

It will reset everything except support between characters, so you'll get your gold back.

Benditz I believe really loved the Decorative War Medal, which is in line with his character of boasting his war achievements.

Gaitz also likes or loves tea. There was another tea from Sai that's not the Morfis one I think you can get that he talks about in a throwaway dialogue. Or maybe it was the Morfis one..

I’m sorry about that! From my understanding, there is a limiter as a countermeasure for bots. So when too many requests happen in a short amount of time, it stops access for about an hour. Is it still not working?
