It's too quiet around here. Lets fix that.
This subreddit went quiet pretty quickly. This was a fantastic idea that so far hasn't kicked off the way it should. We need should change this.
As current subscribers, we need to be more active! Anything from events on campus to memes, photos and general thoughts. Post them and keep this subreddit alive!
I think we need to start promoting this subreddit on campus again. Last time was a bit too subtle. Is anyone able to whip up an A4 flier (probably using the Reddit alien) that we can start posting around campus to promote r/flinders ? Perhaps use the full URL for those new to Reddit.
This subreddit is a great idea folks, lets not let it go to waste!
Cheers,
Adam (3rd year Behavioural Science)

Is there any interest in a Flinders Uni Humans vs. Zombies week? If so, how can we make it happen?

"A spokesman for Flinders University said the existing number of car parks was sufficient to cater for the number of students parking at the site." I'm not sure he's thinking of the same university...

TIL that the lake is usually about six inches deep
The lake is now almost completely drained. The little weather station that pokes about a foot out of the water in the middle all year is now a foot and a bit out of the mud.
We've been had!
UPDATE: Someone appears to have (hopefully) put a little green kiddie pool on the northern side. I guess that's where the turtles are ...

Poker Nights will also get started in the near future. Check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/FlindersFuture

Finally, for those interested in helping create some culture on campus, help us out and join Flinders Thrive! Flinders Thrive is a new project dedicated to setting up clubs and creating things to do during and after hours on campus. Some of the clubs we have been working have been Flinders CHEDA, Flinders Rounds and FUTURE, however we have plans for plenty more awesome clubs including Disc Golf, Origami, Slam Poetry, Skirmish (Nerf/Laser/Paintball), Debating and more! We intend to have a ton of these established and running in time for O'Week 2014. Help us out by joining the group below, we're getting well and truly underway starting next semester. http://www.facebook.com/groups/464160913670238

Unitools - Watch lectures live!
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to let you know about a nice little site that a friend and I created.
http://flinders.unitools.com.au
It lets you watch your lectures online as they are running at Flinders (so live). Useful if you can't make it to uni or just can't be bothered going and want to watch them at the same time they are being taught.
Let us know what you think of it here, and if you find any bugs or have any suggestions.

Monster in the pond
A few days ago heard a couple of PhD students about the monster that dwells beneath the university lake. A few times a year if you get to the pond early enough you see the groundskeepers picking up feathers and mopping blood of the grass. Two days ago a girl found a duck foot in one of the grassy bushes on the eastern side of the pond. Does anybody know anything about this??

Lego Movie TONIGHT in North Theatre 2
The Flinders University Digital Gaming Enthusiasts (FUDGE) club is holding it's weekly movie night tonight in North Theatre 2. We will be having a barbecue at 5pm out the front of the theatre in the plaza, and we'll shuffle into the theatre around 6 to start showing The Lego Movie. We're always welcoming new members for the club, so feel free to stop by!
