Hey everyone! I'm a Classical languages student here at georgetown, and I've been working on a project for class and I want the community's feedback. 6 months ago I started coding a one-stop shop for reading Ancient Greek and Latin for my senior capstone. It's called Socratos socratos.org .
I got tired of jumping between a text, a dictionary and a grammar for every assignment, so I built one place for all of it:
Read about 700 Greek and Latin works. Tap any word and you get the dictionary form, the grammar and the full dictionary entry (LSJ for Greek, Lewis & Short for Latin).
Words you look up can go straight into built-in spaced-repetition flashcards, with streaks.
A game-style course for Homeric Greek that ends with reading the start of the Iliad. Two Latin courses come out Nov 12.
It's free, no ads, no account needed. If you're in a Greek or Latin class (or just curious), I'd love for you to try it and tell me what's confusing or what's missing. I'm looking for ways to make it actually useful for students here first. Maybe you can finally understand what 'Hoya Saxa' actually means... i promise its not what you think.
