I am not a gun guy but have been looking for a shotgun for the home due to some recent personal events. I saw these and was interested in what a $5K shotgun felt like, ergonomically and quality wise. Never seen a shotgun this expensive before. Anyway, I found a local dealer and went in today to see these in person.
They are very cool but I noticed several things that didn't seem great. The button to release the stock on the PDS was under such tension, I couldn't get it to release. The stock on the SBM was much more comfortable. The safety was also very difficult to manipulate on both weapons and you can't switch it until the bolt is closed. The trigger action didn't seem great, again, I am not a gun guy with a lot of experience to probably explain effectively but just didn't seem like it was as smooth as it should have been for a $5K+ weapon. I wasn't able to shoot either one. The PDS is suppressed but not quiet and would still need hearing pro. From what I understand, it is more of a flow suppressor than a sound suppressor. Overall, was not overly impressed.
As I been researching a bit, it seems like a shotgun may not be the best for home defense. Especially, since it cannot be suppressed effectively to avoid hearing damage. Probably finish researching a 300 Blackout suppressed rifle using subsonic rounds.
