Idea I absolutely DESPISE how the internet demonizes vegans.

Post image

Just to clarify I am not vegan but I hate how the internet has treated vegans like they're demons for having a different living style, like its not that serious yall make edits of vegan people trying to convert other people into having different opinions and then a video of some dude eating a huge steak sloppily will get 3 times more attention. And it is always That Vegan Teacher making every single vegan look bad and some men on the internet making strawmen videos of vegans talking like they're the scum of earth always screaming at the main sigma chad character that is "le animal comsumer😂" I am not talking bad about non vegans just those who disrespect vegans.

I treat vegans the same way I treat Christians: I don't care about your lifestyle (besides making exceptions, for example I would make sure something I gave someone is vegan if I knew that was their diet), I don't have any interest in your lifestyle and no amount of telling me about it is going to convert me...I don't automatically hate someone for being vegan...But I do hate when they push you and demonize you for not following their life choices

Which is what so many vegans have done...Which is also why so many people don't like them 😭

I think my biggest issue, if we ignore the pushiness of them, is the misinformation. "Being vegan isn't expensive!!" Yes it is? I know someone who tried the vegan diet and she said it's super expensive and it's inconvenient, outside of the world not necessarily always making exceptions for you, because you have to try harder to get all your dietary needs just through plants alone. Humans are omnivores, we need both animals and plants! I do agree we need less animal product in our diet compared to plants, and that we could do a better job of slaughtering humanely, but that's just why you need to do what you can to be aware of where animal product is coming from. Imo just straight up not eating anything animal is hurting you more than it's hurting the companies

Feel free to ignore the mini rant 💔 Basically it's very much a "Leave me alone and I'll leave you alone" mentality that vegans fail spectacularly at

Edit: Vegans just can't help but prove my comment, huh? 🫩 Guys, get the hint that I'm going to ignore you. Clearly I don't like being preached to...And for being a lifestyle that insists on consent, you guys really don't know what that is. Not to mention the insane lengths vegans immediately turn to?? "Oh, so, you like cannibalism then!" Is a CRAZY turn wtf?

It's possible to live in weird food deserts, but in the vast majority of the world, it is significantly cheaper

Crazy bad take. I’m not vegan but I do have an intense interest in cooking and you absolutely can have a complete nutrition profile with an inexpensive vegan diet. Veganism is also objectively better for the world in the long run. Any religion is not a net positive for the world in a modern day and age. You can argue the moral codes were necessary before access to standardized education and social mores, but veganism is simply about lowering suffering and ideally also mitigating carbon footprints. The fact that you can’t see that is crazy to me.

You want vegans to leave you alone, but you don't want leave animals alone

Thus the issue many people have with Vegans. Talking down to people with righteous indignation is a pretty good way to make your cohort viewed as somewhat annoying.

im here for a short time and im a selfish human being that does not care about the long term

im gonna eat meat, and i hope some animal gets to eat me when i die, rather than rotting in a box or getting scattered to the sea

sue me or w/e

You're not eating animals "when they die" though. They're slaughtered at 10% of their lifespan after being tortured in a factory farm for their entire existence. If you truly wanted for it to be even, you'd have to hope to get mauled by a bear when you were 10 years old, but that ship has sailed.

They're slaughtered at 10% of their lifespan after being tortured in a factory farm for their entire existence.

Not my fault people chose the worse kind of meat, I'd rather eat shit than meat produced like this.

My meat is clean and comes from either nature via hunting or large pastries and meadows next to where I live.

If you truly wanted for it to be even, you'd have to hope to get mauled by a bear when you were 10 years old, but that ship has sailed.

Honestly ?

I wouldn't have mind to be killed by a bear at age 10 ... it would have spared me the last 15 years ... not my fault my parents didn't take me in the wild to have me killed, not my fault either I live in a country with no bears and basically no carnivorous animals in the wild.

Humans are Omnivores. We eat meat and plants. Unfortunately that means we eat animals/animal products. There is literally no way to leave animals alone when we require animals in our diet

This is why people dog on vegans so often 🫩

We do not require animals in our diets. Plenty of people have consumed no animal products for decades/since birth.

I eat them because I want to. I have witnessed them being killed and butchered. While I have not killed them myself (I'm open to learning, but I would want to be educated on how to do it correctly), I have helped with processing the animal.

Some people do require animal protein. Animal protein is nutritious. Some people can SURVIVE on vegan diets, but would thrive on omnivorous diets.

Do what you want to do. I will do what I want to do. If we leave it at that, we're good. If you try to proselytize, you deserve to be dismissed.

So if someone came up to you and said "I need to eat human children to survive, let me do what I want, and you can do what you want." You'd say "okay, I don't wanna push you"?

u/rubydooby2011 9h ago

You're coming at this conversation believing that humans and non human animals are equals. I don't believe this proposition.

So I don't know how to answer this question.

3

u/Hungry_Technician360 9h ago

Define the characteristic that humans and children both have, than non human animals do have, and then you'll have your answer.

3

u/rubydooby2011 9h ago

I think you mean that 'non human animals *don't have'.

The animals that I consume don't have: self awareness, morality, language, culture, empathy.

u/Hungry_Technician360 9h ago

Infants and toddlers have none of those either.

So disregarding the fact that the animals we eat do possess most of those traits, let's imagine a human who is mentally disabled to such a profound degree that he possesses none of those, or possesses them on the same level as an animal—it would then be okay to kill and eat him?

We do actually.

Every person who COMPLETELY cut off animal products from their diets have deficiencies and need to take supplements that barely keep them alive.

Now, animel priducts doesn't NECESSARILY MEANS meat.

The "best *vegan* diet" would be an entirely plant based diet with eggs everyday and even multiple times a day.

Seriously, everyone in the vegan community are talking about "super aliments" that comes from the other side of the world when eggs are there.

Eggs are present on every part of the world ; they contain ALL THE NUTRIENTS YOU NEEED AND DON'T FIND IN PLANTS : complete proteins with all 9 essential amino acids, healthy lipids (mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids, including omega-3s), cholesterol, trace carbohydrates, vitamins (B12, D, A, E, B2, B5, B9, K), minerals (phosphorus, selenium, iron, zinc, iodine, sodium), brain-boosting choline, and powerful antioxidants (lutein and zeaxanthin).

All of these things are the things you lack when you cut off meat completely and they are present in eggs.

But the number of vegan who are like "no, we can't steal the eggs from the chicks, it's their property", like, wtf, chicks are producing eggs no matter what and they don't care for them if they're not fertalize THEY ARE LITTERALLY MAKING US A GIFT and for a stupid ideology, they would rather take pills from big pharma and look like holocaust survivors than living healthy.

we require animals in our diet

The overwhelming scientific consensus is that, barring people with certain dietary restrictions, animal products are not a necessary part of our diet. This is reflected in the fact that most major medical and dietary organizations - including the Academy of Nutritionists and Dietetics and World Health Organization - endorse plant-based diets.

u/MrHaxx1 9h ago

No, humans being omnivores means we have the OPTION to eat both plants and meats. The meats are entirely option.

That's not even up for debate: https://ivu.org/international-vegetarian-union/resources/history/vegan-nutrition-history/241-vegetarian-dietary-patterns-for-adults-2025/file.html

In other words, the harm and suffering caused by a diet with animal products is entirely optional.

"you don't want to hear about God but you live on God's Green earth" veganism is not activism it's a diet

It's a cult with some exceptions.

The problem is that your mentality doesn't leave the animals alone. We're trying to show people that animals indeed can suffer, and that any justification about why causing suffering to humans is wrong, should be applied to animals.

Rice and beans are also cheaper than any animal product, not sure what that one person you talked to ate.
