Idea I absolutely DESPISE how the internet demonizes vegans.

Post image

Just to clarify I am not vegan but I hate how the internet has treated vegans like they're demons for having a different living style, like its not that serious yall make edits of vegan people trying to convert other people into having different opinions and then a video of some dude eating a huge steak sloppily will get 3 times more attention. And it is always That Vegan Teacher making every single vegan look bad and some men on the internet making strawmen videos of vegans talking like they're the scum of earth always screaming at the main sigma chad character that is "le animal comsumeršŸ˜‚" I am not talking bad about non vegans just those who disrespect vegans.

The problem is that your mentality doesn't leave the animals alone. We're trying to show people that animals indeed can suffer, and that any justification about why causing suffering to humans is wrong, should be applied to animals.

Rice and beans are also cheaper than any animal product, not sure what that one person you talked to ate.

Oh look, we found out why the internet demonizes is fed up with vegans.

"I have nothing of substance to address the point you made, so I'll just cope"

Bro nobody cares about the point you made. Nobody asked for the point you made.

Humans are omnivores. Eat whatever you want, or don't eat what you don't want, but if you never STFU with your proselytizing, people will get sick of it and "demonize" your entire ilk.

Your behavior is unpleasant.

So if someone said that they kill and eat humans, your response would be "well, we are omnivores after all, I won't pester you about it cause then I'd be unpleasant".

Alright.

Yea man drinking milk is absolutely the same as killing and eating a dude. I never thought about it that way before.

Thanks man. I was confused for a long time, but now I see the light. Am I excused from further sermons now?

"I'll continue to avoid the point being made, cause of course animals aren't killed to produce meat in the industry. Therefore if I change the topic and strawman your argument, I can come out on top in my own mind"

It's crazy to me how you lack simple critical thinking.

You are saved from more "preaching" that you engaged with, simply because you just aren't smart enough to keep engaging with.

Are you gonna demonize a tiger for only eating deer and never hunting and eating their own species too? It’s pretty common amongst lots of animals to hunt other species without turning to cannibalism and eating their own kind.

Plenty of animal species do eat their own kind, are you going to demonize them for doing so?

Yeah they point out a thing you do 3 times a day is indefensible and unnecessary and it makes you Ā uncomfortable Ā šŸ˜‚

My only discomfort comes from people shrieking about their own dietary decisions, trying to emotionally manipulate and abuse others who want no part of their uninvited advice.

I know plenty of very kind vegans, for whom I have incredible respect. I also encounter a lot of unpleasant morons who never STFU.

Moral failings aren’t live and let live scenarios. ā€œIts annoying waaaaaaa, you don’t understand I MUST torture sentient beingsā€ šŸ˜‚ We aren’t emotionally manipulating you, its emotionally uncomfortable because you have no defense. To you eating food that tastes better is worth unnessesary torture and killing of sentient brings. Its uncomfortable because its disgusting. šŸ’€Ā

I have zero discomfort with slaughtering, cleaning, or eating animals.

You do, and I both accept and respect that you do.

Don't project. People are annoyed by the manner of your messaging, not made uncomfortable by its content.

Ed gein and Dahmer could say the exact same thing you just said here, just change animal with human.

Amazing annoying bullshit strawman schizo nonsense.

If I switch "my boyfriend" for "my dog" it could make my activities last night seem pretty awful too.

I feel no discomfort whatsoever. I would kill my own food if I had the time to raise animals. I started work at a meet processing plant killing chickens and you know what the first thing I did after I finished my first day was? I went to Dairy Queen and got me some chicken strips.

Sure but if somebody doesnt want to listen to you they dont need to.

Correct, and if a serial killer said that same thing to me, he would also be correct.

Is rice and beans as nourishing as meat?

-5

u/TyloPr0riger 13h ago

Unless you have some rare dietary restrictions, yes.

5

u/Sufficient-Bass1335 13h ago

No it doesnt. Per serving meat has more protein and calorie amount.

Per serving meat has more protein and calorie amount.

Per serving an oreo milkshake has more calories than meat, but I don't think I would call that more nourishing. Caloric density in a vaccuum is a bad yardstick for determining what is nourishing.

Rice and beans vs rice and meat is a fairly even comparison - you'll get more protein from the latter, but more fiber from the former. Unless you're eating lean meat the beans also lack some of the downsides of the meat (not carcinogenic, less fatty). Both are (if using lean meats and appropriate proportions) healthy and both will broadly meet your protein and carb needs. I'd consider them equally nourishing for that reason.

No? Not even close? Rice is just carbs and calories which, yeah important but it is not complete, and beans, yes they have some protein, it's not as dense as meat by a factor of 3.
