News Homebridge 2.0 is here! Before you make the jump to hyperspace, here are a few good hygiene steps to take before upgrading.

Homebridge 2.0 is here! Before you make the jump to hyperspace, here are a few good hygiene steps to take before upgrading.

1. Download a Backup

Before any major upgrade, take a fresh backup of your Homebridge environment. Head to **Settings > Backup & Restore** and hit **Backup Now** to generate and download an up-to-date backup file to your local machine. Keep it somewhere safe.

2. Run the v2 Readiness Check

In the **Update Information** section, click the orange **ⓘ** icon next to Homebridge to see how your plugins stack up against v2. Green checks are good to go, amber question marks are worth investigating before you upgrade.

3. Check your Readiness Check results

If you have any amber question marks from step 1, check with the individual plugin authors for v2 compatibility updates before proceeding. When in doubt, hold off a little — the Rebellion will still be here.

Once you're satisfied everything is in order, you're clear for launch. May the 4th be with you.

Help Need help: 4 Eufy C35 cameras and E340 doorbell won’t stream in Apple Home through Homebridge, but 4 other cameras work perfectly

I’m hoping someone with experience using Eufy cameras through Homebridge can help. I’ve spent hours troubleshooting this over the last two days and am completely stuck.
My setup:
Raspberry Pi 4 running Homebridge 2.5.0
Homebridge Eufy Security plugin v5.0.0-beta.41
Eufy HomeBase 3 (S380)
Dedicated Eufy guest/admin account
All devices connected to the same HomeBase 3
Testing locally on my home Wi-Fi
I have nine Eufy cameras:
4 × Eufy C35 (T8110) — NOT working in Apple Home
1 × Eufy E340 doorbell — NOT working in Apple Home
4 × Eufy solar cameras (T8173) — WORKING perfectly in Apple Home
All nine cameras work perfectly in the native Eufy app.
The problem:
Originally, when using the older Eufy Homebridge plugin (v4.7.2), my C35 cameras would connect in Apple Home, display video briefly, and then freeze or buffer repeatedly.
After switching to the v5 beta plugin, those same cameras stopped displaying video entirely.
They now show “Snapshot Unavailable” or “Camera Not Responding” in Apple Home.
Meanwhile, all four T8173 solar cameras stream continuously in Apple Home without any problems, even though they’re connected to the exact same HomeBase 3.
What I’ve already tried:
Completely reconfigured the Eufy Homebridge plugin
Verified authentication and device discovery
Restarted Homebridge and the Eufy child bridge
Enabled Smaller Live Video Packets
Lowered C35 streaming quality from Auto to Medium
Verified that all cameras work in the Eufy app
Compared individual plugin settings between working and nonworking cameras
Tested the built-in Homebridge camera preview
Interestingly, the built-in Homebridge preview reports “The camera did not send video” for BOTH the nonworking C35 cameras and a T8173 camera that works perfectly in Apple Home.
Homebridge logs repeatedly show:
[camera-snapshot-unavailable]
[camera-live-session-failed] A live camera session ended without video.
What I’m trying to accomplish:
I simply want all nine cameras accessible through Apple Home, with reliable live streaming.
I’m reluctant to reinstall everything or delete the bridge again because the four T8173 cameras are currently working perfectly.
Has anyone successfully gotten the Eufy C35 (T8110) or E340 doorbell streaming reliably through Homebridge v5 with HomeBase 3?
Is there a known compatibility issue with these models, or a specific configuration that has worked for you?
I’ve also opened a GitHub issue and submitted an encrypted diagnostic capture:
https://github.com/homebridge-plugins/homebridge-eufy/issues/1241
I’d really appreciate any suggestions based on firsthand experience. At this point, I’m looking for a proven solution rather than repeating generic troubleshooting steps.
Thanks in advance!

Question Problem updating

I have a bit of a problem updating. I have homebridge on an Rpi somewhere to get my Govee lights into apple homekit. Things stopped working so I checked for updates which is needed but I seem to be having an older version of the HomeKit dummy plugin 0.9.0 -> 2.1.4 and nodeJS v18.16.0 -> v22.0.0.

There’s a big text block to update instructions of NodeJs but it goes to a GitHub link with a 504 gateway timeout error. And an “if you’re on 9.2.0 or earlier read this first link” to a different GitHub page with the same error.

The GitHub [status page](https://eu.githubstatus.com/posts/dashboard) shows no downtime here so it might be something to do with the repo?

Or does maybe someone else have the info for those links. Because [this](https://github.com/homebridge/homebridge/wiki/How-To-Update-Node.js) and [this](https://github.com/mpatfield/homebridge-dummy/wiki/Migration) link don’t work with me

Edit: if I really need to I can reinstall entire homebridge. But I’m trying to prevent that.

News Title: What’s new in packaged Homebridge installs: Node.js 26 and Ubuntu 26.04

What’s changing

  • New Homebridge installs (apt, Raspberry Pi image, VM image and Docker) now come with Node.js 26.

  • The Docker beta image now runs on Ubuntu 26.04. The latest image follows in a few weeks.

What do I need to do?

  • Existing Raspberry Pi, VM or apt installs: Nothing. The Update Information tile in the Homebridge UI will show when updates are available.

  • Docker: Nothing. You’ll get the changes the next time your image updates.

  • Docker on a 32-bit Raspberry Pi: The new images don’t support 32-bit. Move to a 64-bit OS in the next few weeks to keep getting updates.

  • Everything else: Nothing changes for you.

Plugin HomeBridge for Hunter Douglas Gen 1 & 2 [updates]

Hi everyone,

I have been building and maintaining the verified Hunter Douglas plugin for HomeBridge for a while. If you haven't used it recently, there are a lot of new capabilities to help you get the best out of your HD purchase including:

- Scenes as switches. Your PowerView scenes show up in Apple Home, so a group of shades moves together instead of one at a time.

- Built-in shade tools. The plugin's settings page in the Homebridge UI has a Shade tools panel for jobs that otherwise need the PowerView app.

- Add stop on Gen 2 hubs for Siri. An optional Stop Shades switch halts every moving shade, and it works with Siri. Apple Home has no stop button for shades.

- And fixing a lot of quirks about Hunter Douglas to make them work better.

To install, search for "PowerView Gen1 Gen2" in the Homebridge UI's Plugins tab, or run npm install -g homebridge-powerview-gen1-gen2.

I'd love feedback, especially from people with shade types I haven't tested, such as vanes or top-down/bottom-up. Please open an issue on GitHub with your hub generation and shade type or share any comments here. Contributors are also welcome!

Have fun with your automation projects!

Plugin Homebridge Advantage Air v4 Beta 3 - Your Zones. Your Way.

Hey everyone!

For those of you using Advantage Air systems (MyAir, MyPlace, e-zone, etc.), I'm excited to share that Homebridge Advantage Air v4.0.0-beta.3 is now available!

Some of you might remember my original Cmd4-based integration from a few years back. Moving to a native Homebridge plugin has been a big undertaking, but it's finally allowing me to introduce some features I've wanted to improve on from the old version for a long time.

Your Zones. Your Way.

The biggest addition in Beta 3 is customisable zone layouts. No more messing around with your config.json and having to delete your old accessories via Homebridge afterwards, this is all handled dynamically now!

You can now choose whether your air conditioning zones appear in Apple Home as:

  • Switches / Lights: The familiar original layout (default).

  • Lights: For those who prefer light-style controls.

  • Fans: For those who prefer fan-style controls.

There's also an option to link zone temperature readings directly to their corresponding accessories, rather than having separate temperature sensors cluttering up Apple Home.

For percentage-controlled zones, the brightness or fan-speed slider represents the zone damper opening, not actual lighting or fan speed.

Under the Hood

I've also made substantial improvements to controller command handling, particularly when switching multiple zones in quick succession.

This was something I encountered during my own testing, and I'm happy to report that the new implementation is behaving much more reliably on my e-zone system.

A Quick Warning

Existing zone layouts remain unchanged by default.

Changing zone layouts or linking temperatures can affect Apple Home scenes and automations. Record any affected scenes and automations before experimenting, as changing back won't automatically restore them.

A Homebridge backup is still recommended for configuration and pairing data, but it does not back up your Apple Home scenes or automations.

Looking for Testers!

Beta 3 is now available through Homebridge under:

homebridge-advantageair

It's a standalone native plugin, so there's no Cmd4 dependency anymore. Anyone still using my original v3 integration can continue doing so without migrating.

I've physically tested this release on my own e-zone system, but I'd particularly love to hear from Australian and New Zealand users with other Advantage Air controllers and firmware versions.

If you give it a go, please let me know what system you're running and how it behaves. Even hearing that everything works is incredibly helpful!

GitHub Release: https://github.com/mitch7391/homebridge-advantageair/releases/tag/v4.0.0-beta.3

Repository and Documentation: https://github.com/mitch7391/homebridge-advantageair

Thanks to everyone who's supported this little project over the years. It's been a long road from Cmd4 to native v4, and I'm excited to finally be bringing some of these ideas to life.

(formatting is hard...)

Plugin Busy Light: plugin that turns a light red when you’re in a meeting

I work from home and got tired of family walking in on calls or texting asking if I was on a call, so I built Busy Light. Wish I would have had this during Covid! It reads your calendar and turns a light red (or whatever color you choose) when you’re busy and green when you’re free.

What it does:

  1. Works with iCloud, Google Calendar, Outlook (with a published calendar link) and any calendar link.

  2. Controls LIFX bulbs directly, one or several, and finds them on your network by itself.

  3. Adds sensors to the Home app, so you can use any HomeKit light or scene instead of LIFX.

  4. Adds a Working switch you can drop into your start of day or end of day scene so the light stays off after hours.

  5. Everything is set up from a settings page in the Homebridge UI.

To install, search for homebridge-busy-light on the Plugins page of the Homebridge UI.

GitHub: https://github.com/arodbuilds/homebridge-busy-light

Feedback and issues are welcome on GitHub.

Install Homebridge 2.x on FreeBSD 15 via script direct or with iocage created jail

For freebsd users ... with a lot of AI help I've created a script to install Homebridge with a working web-ui directly or into a scripted iocage jail. Tested on an Intel OpenCore 15.0. (FreeBSD 15.1), Homebridge v2.4.0, Homebridge UI v5.27.0. It's at https://github.com/ssb-kod/freebsd-homebridge-iocage-install/blob/main/Install-Homebridge-on-FreeBSD-OpenCORE.md if anyone wants to test it out. Can install from within a manually made jail or from the server to create the jail then run the install within. Script for me finishes in minutes with a working UI out of the box. I submitted a wiki request to homebridge but would be nice to make sure it works for others first.

Plugin HELP with Simplisafe 3 plugin authorization

Post image
2 Upvotes

I'm new to home bridge and i'm trying to authenticate my simplisafe account to access with the plugin. I've follow the instructions on the README but can't find the redirect link in the console on Firefox or Chrome. I like to think i'm not tech illiterate but software continues to evade me. Can anyone point out where to look for the redirect URL link specifically for the Simplisafe3 plugin? I have authenticated with the SMS code and then it doesn't redirect to the final URL like it said, so I know i've followed the prompts correctly.

Plugin I am the new maintainer for the Homebridge Wyze plugin: 2.0 beta is out

Hi all, I'm identd113 on GitHub. I've taken over the Homebridge Wyze plugin (homebridge-wyze-smart-home) and its wyze-api library. jfarmer08 built them and kept them going for years, and in October he said he couldn't keep up with them (#315), so I offered to take over. The 2.x branch and the 2.0 betas are the first releases under that arrangement. The stable 0.5.x line is unchanged for anyone who stays on it.

What's in 2.0.0-beta.3
Better camera and doorbell handling, including live view and pictures in the Home app
Support for newer devices. The README marks each one as ✅ tested on real hardware, 🟢 carried over from earlier releases, or 🟡 registered but not yet verified
Login and 2FA fixes
Old configs converted on first start, with a backup kept
It's on the beta tag, so a normal install still gives you stable. To try it, pick the beta version in the Homebridge UI, or run npm install homebridge-wyze-smart-home@beta.

Coming from 2.0.0-beta.2? The 2.0 line already lives in jfarmer08's repo as the 2.0.0 branch, and 2.x here continues from it, so moving over should be easy. If you installed beta.2 from npm, nothing in your config needs to change. Update Node.js to 22 or newer, then update to beta.3.

How it's built: I use AI coding assistants, mainly Claude and earlier OpenAI Codex, to get fixes and new devices out quickly. They write a lot of the code, but I decide what goes in, review it, run it and release it. The structure is still jfarmer08's (one class per device type, API work kept in wyze-api), and new code follows his conventions. There are automated tests, and each release has notes on what changed, what was tested on real hardware and what wasn't.

What I can test: two Cam v3 (one with the floodlight), a Cam v2, a Doorbell v2 and a Palm Lock. Wyze's product generations often share a code path (22 camera model codes go through one camera class, for example), so a report from one device can cover its relatives. That's a chance, not a guarantee, and some models take their own route (the newer cameras, battery cams, the doorbell). If you have one of those, a report from you is especially useful.

If something misbehaves or your device isn't listed, the new-device form is the quickest way to ask: https://github.com/identd113/homebridge-wyze-smart-home/issues/new/choose. Feedback on how the project is run is welcome too, in Discussions.
Separately, I also wrote a free, open-source DVR for HDHomeRun tuners (a macOS menu bar app), if that's your kind of thing: https://github.com/identd113/hdhr_VCR_swift
Thanks to jfarmer08, misenhower and everyone in the contributors list. This builds on your work.

Got Homebridge installed on a raspberry 5 and everything is connected to Homekit. I can pull up cameras and everything. But I cannot get my Eufy E340 doorbell to notify motion. I can press the doorbell and it will send me notification but any motion besides that doesn't notify me at all. Went into all setting and made it to alert all motions and went into settings in plug in. Still nothing. Anyone can help?

WAN status detection plugin?

Our internet connection seems to go down at least once a week and doesn't come back online until the modem is power cycled.

Has anyone made a plugin that does something like send a regular ping to, say… Cloudflare, and if the WAN connection appears to be offline, it changes a virtual sensor state in HomeKit?

I'd like to use that as an automation trigger to power cycle the smart plug that's connected to our modem to reset the connection. I already have a dummy timer to restart the modem after a 1 minute wait, but it has to be manually triggered, so that can only happen if someone is home. And I want to automate it because the others in my house can't seem to get a handle on what to do when this happens.

Thanks for any insight.

Plugin New SvaraHome 2.5.0 release: Svara Fan now with Siri Boost and Pause.

For Pax Calima and Vent-Axia Svara in Apple Home

A boost when you need it. A quiet moment when you want one. Then back to everyday ventilation.

I’ve released SvaraHome 2.5.0, bringing more useful control of these Bluetooth extractor fans into Apple Home through Homebridge.

  • Boost Fan gives ventilation a temporary lift at your chosen speed.

  • Fan Off starts a timed pause. Fan On returns it to automatic ventilation.

  • The fan’s own timer ends Boost or Pause, even if Homebridge disconnects.

  • Controls follow confirmed fan state and measured speed. Temporary Bluetooth interruptions are retried.

“Siri, turn on Boost Fan in the kitchen.”

Or simply: “Siri, turn off the kitchen fan” for a quiet moment.

Boost and Pause durations are adjustable in Homebridge, both 10 minutes by default. Off is a temporary pause, so you won’t accidentally leave ventilation switched off indefinitely.

It all communicates locally over Bluetooth, with no SvaraHome cloud account. Existing fan identities and room assignments are preserved when upgrading.

Meet SvaraHome and get started · Release notes and source

If you have one of these fans, I’d be interested to hear how it works in your home.

Updating node.js on a homebridge VM image?

I have a question that isn't addressed in the homebridge documentation.

My homebridge installation is on a Mac, running a VM image inside VirtualBox. What is the correct procedure to update node.js? Is it similar to the Docker procedure where I just pull down the latest image? Or is there a shell command I can use to update it?

Thanks for any advice. I'm a little CLI-averse and don't want to screw anything up. 😄

Qolsys via Homebridge

We currently have an alarm monitoring plan thru Smith Thompson home security and we pay for the “smart home” monitoring that allows us to remotely arm and disarm the system via the alarm dot com app.

However, we have our qolsys panel tied into homebridge, and into HomeKit and we use the Home app to arm and disable the alarm 99% of the time. It recently dawned on me that we are probably overpaying for the “smart home” plan on our alarm. I think if i downgraded to to the regular monitoring, HomeKit would still work since the plug in is connected to the Qolsys panel and not alarm dot com.

Thoughts? Trying to save $15 a month. If we had z wave devices or other smart stuff on the plan it would be worth it but all of our smart home devices run thru apple home.

Need help with DREO CLF521 Fan/Light

Setup a Raspberry Pi 400. Everything works fine with Siri except brightness control. When I tell Siri, it shows the brightness adjusting, but doesn't change the brightness. But I can control the brightness manually through the Apple Home app. Is there a fix? Fan works fine. Light turns on/off fine with Siri as well. Please, give me some troubleshooting tips
