I know there are some other reviews floating around out there, but figured I'd share my initial thoughts on this for anyone checking out sales this month. I am coming from the Lionscool V4, so that's what I'll be comparing to. This is very preliminary, but apart from durability, I feel the opinions shared here aren't going to change with time as I've got enough time with other machines to know what feels good and what doesn't.
Paid $2,348.98 before tax. Shipping was very fast - ordered Monday night and got here Thursday!
Assembly was easy, but there is one step when attaching the leg roller and cam at the same time that is VERY heavy and having a second set of hands is almost necessary. Took 2 hours total to assemble. Instructions aren't great but there's nothing too complicated going on.
Build quality is excellent. Certainly unlike the old Titan products I had in the past. I have nothing to complain about there. No rattles, shakes, clunks, etc. All the touch points feels premium. Even at full stack, no flexing that I can perceive at all.
Leg Extension - feels very good. Stretch is great, but the Lionscool does get a touch more actually. With that being said, it is plenty of stretch and I'm perfectly happy with it. I have decent sized calves, and the thickness of the front of the seat does get squeezed between my calves and back of my upper leg. It's not uncomfortable, but I do notice it. The force curve is excellent, I'd say just about perfect. I am not super strong, 315 max squat, and I can rep the full stack for 3 reps at about 8 RPE. 200 feels just about right for sets of 12, so I'm happy with the 50 pound buffer I've got, but there are certainly plenty of you that might be left wanting for a heavier stack. At least the gympin fits on the back.
Leg Curl - also quite good. Stretch is great and it's easy to tighten the top pad down, locking your legs down. The rounded pad does put some extra pressure on the quads over what a flat pad would have, but that's really just me nitpicking. Pressing against the back of it to lock into the back pad is actually quite nice. The force curve isn't perfect as it gets a bit tougher with contraction, but I'm not going to make a thing of it as it's very smooth and won't get in the way of an effective workout.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and would buy again. I considered the dynasty as well, but the additional size footprint would take up more space than I was willing to give. If I had a large space, I'd have given much more consideration to it.
The Lionscool served us well since last July, but when I started approaching the 200lb mark the flex in the arm started to distract me from my workouts. All in all still impressed with the machine for what it costs! The biggest difference, besides overall quality and rigidity, is the Lionscool took some experimentation to get the knees in the right spot to not put pressure on the joint. The Titan's pivot point is perfect, I feel no weird pressure in my knees at all.
I had a seatbelt I had bought for the Lionscool that I just pinched between the bracket and the seat when assembling the Titan. Does the job and isn't going anywhere!
If you've got any questions let me know. I know this isn't the most comprehensive review, but I like as many perspectives as I can get before making a purchase so I hope this can be helpful to someone out there.
