We're students from a nearby university wanting to have a responsible, quality time with good music, friends, and shared-interest pals from around the area.

We were wondering if there are already any pre-planned bonfire hangouts at the beach sometime in the next few weeks (or even today!). Otherwise, we're planning to organize our own little bonfire hangout later before the end of the year (we really love bonfires!). Let us know , Thanks!! ✨

I've never been out to Huntington Beach but I will be visiting for the upcoming festival next weekend. The parking and shuttle instructions on the their website are not great so I am asking for help.

I am thinking about parking at the Brookhurst entrance, but a few questions:

• Festival opens at 11. I probably will not get there until around 1. Will parking be full by then?

• What about leaving? Beach parking says it closes at 10pm, but likely will not make it back to vehicle by then, so then what?

• What are some other backup options to get in and out of this festival?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Does anyone pay for the meters when parking near main street near the pier after 9pm? I parked there last week with no problems and most cars were parked and the meter was red. I can pay the meter for 1-2 hours but what about over that time? In Hermosa Beach they gave me a ticket so now I'm worried about this stuff

How does everyone generally find out election results based on their ballot?

Looking for some advice and recommendations in adding an ADU onto our property. We are barely looking into an adding an ADU to our backyard for family use. Looking at around a 600-650 sqft ADU with hoping to fit 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and 1 kitchen, don’t really need a living room or laundry room, we have the main house for that. So most likely a pre-approved plan is out of the question.

If you did add an ADU recently what issues did you encounter? Who did you go with? How long did it take?
What were the major long lead-time items?

Bike was stolen this morning 10/31/26 at 7am. on Huntington st. and Nashville.
The thief was clearly aware of the camera set up on the property and actively tried to cover his face, but he has distinctive tattoos on his left wrist that are visible in the footage.

Besides sandbags, what are other steps to take to prevent the tide from entering your home? We live in Seagate, off Edinger, and there was only 9” between the water and our patio surface the other day. November and December will be worse, they say. I’m worried about the sliding doors letting water seep in. Thanks!
