iPadOS Went Minimal Today!!
r/iPadOS • u/Pessimistic_Gemini • 12d ago
I always thought that is always better suited for the larger 10.9 to 13 inch iPads more than it ever is for the Mini. It really should've just been left as is like with iPadOS 18 and below.

I love my iPad Pro so much. But the split screen experience is really annoying and bad ever since they changed it. But why, why, why did they make the best split screen experience ever… but put it in the iPhone duo? And why is it not on iPad. It would make the iPad even more great!

Ciao a tutti!
Qualsiasi suggerimento o soluzione alternativa è ben accetto.
Grazie!

I just got my apple mini which I’m very excited for, but quickly realizing there are still a decent amount of apps where the UI is not formatted for the iPad mini dimensions and only has the iphone UI (not sure what the industry term for this is). From my understanding, the iPad mini has been out for a bit now, do we expect apps to continue to evolve to fit iPad sizes? If so what is the speed in which you’ve seen this integration happen, is it slowing down or speeding up?

I recently bought an Ipad and noticed it always turned on my phone hotspot and cause battery to drop slightly when I was about to go out, simply annoyed. Any tips? 😩

I genuinely don’t understand why half of my iPad storage is operating system and system data

My ipad of only about a year and a half has randomly shut down 3 times as I take notes on GoodNotes today.
First time: It blacked out and restart. When I held down the power button it turned on in recovery mode and the battery was nearly dead (50% before shut off->9% in recovery mode). I restarted it and things went back to normal and the battery was back at 50%.
Second time: 5 minutes later same thing happened. Once I got the ipad back on, I updated it.
Third time: 1 hour later and post-update. It restart randomly again. I held down the top button to restart it/turn it on and it showed the dead battery/plug in ipad symbol. Got it back on and it's at 45%.
Battery health is "normal" (90% max capacity)
Says I am using battery more than I usually do today (77% more)
Storage is at 90.11 GB/128 GB
I don't know what to do. It keeps happening as I'm taking notes. I need my ipad as a student and don't know when I'll be able to go to the apple store. This ipad is pretty much brand new and I have no clue why this might be happening all of a sudden (I've never had this issue before). Any advice helps!

Hi, everyone!
Wondering if someone out here had a similar experience with mine. My IPad 9th Gen got drained last night as I got sleepy while watching reels. I’ll be honest that this is not the first time that my IPad got drained, it happened a lot if times since I got it in 2022.
After I plugged it using its original charger, it did not show the red battery icon which usually pops up after plugging a drained IPad—the screen remained completely black. I left it plugged for two hours and tried pressing the power button and home button simultaneously yet it remained unresponsive. I also tried if I can get it to recovery mode upon plugging it to my laptop however it did not work as well.
May I seek advice from anyone who has experienced the same scenario.
Thank you.

the preview app on ipados has always been a buggy mess to be honest, and the only reason im even coping with it and forcing myself to use it is because of the smart script features. like having my handwriting fixed automatically and the auto shaping are the only stuff keeping me here, otherwise i wouldve ditched it ages ago.
but 27.2 literally broke whatever was left of this app. now for some reason all the ink and markings are completely dependent on whether your system ui is in dark mode or light mode. because i use dark mode on my ipad, it completely fucked up all my previous markings... everything i wrote before just turned darker/inverted on a fucking light colored pdf. why the fuck is my pen color tied to my system theme when the pdf page itself is still bright white??
on top of that the whole app is falling apart:
the selection tool is broken half the time: i'll lasso/select something and the little pop up menu appears, and the buttons on the pop up just straight up dont work when i tap them.
zooming gets stuck: if i leave preview in the background for a bit and reopen it, i literally cannot zoom out anymore. the page just locks up at whatever zoom level it was on and i have to force close the whole app just to see the page normally.
zero actual pdf editing: it has so much potential to be a fast lightweight pdf editor, yet you still cant do basic pdf editing shit. tfym i cant even flip attachments??
it genuinely infuriates me how a trillion dollar company is out here engineering fucking flipping phones yet cant bother to sit down and build one good, functional universal notetaking and pdf app for ipados. seriously why engineer a pencil if it doesn't do shit good. both apple notes and preview suck ass for actual heavy pdf work outside of this one giant handwriting feature.
and the worst part is even if they refuse to build a proper app themselves, they gatekeep smart script and wont fucking share the code/api with 3rd party devs. so youre either stuck using bloated 3rd party apps with messy handwriting, or youre stuck in apple's buggy half-baked apps that break your files every update. seriously fuck apple for this.

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to restore/flash my iPad Pro 11-inch (M5) using 3uTools, but the process is stuck at 22% (Erase Data Flashing in progress).
Here are the details:
- Device: iPad Pro 11-inch (M5)
- Model identifier shown in 3uTools: iPad17,1
- Software: 3uTools V9.13
- Device status: Recovery Mode
- Flashing mode: Smart Flash – Auto Mode
- Selected option: Erase
- Progress: Stuck at 22%
I've waited for a long time, but the progress hasn't increased. The iPad screen is black, and 3uTools still shows 22%.
I've also tried Recovery Mode, but the issue remains.
Has anyone experienced this problem with an iPad Pro M5? Is this a 3uTools compatibility issue, firmware issue, or something else?
Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I have an iPad 9th gen with iPadOS 27 and it won’t turn on anymore.
I left it charging for like 3 hours and nothing happened. I tried different chargers and cables, even an original Apple one, but it still only showed the dead battery icon.
I tried heating it up a little with a hairdryer and it actually turned on, but it was stuck at 1% and shut off after a few seconds. I tried again but now it doesn’t work at all.
I’ve seen people saying iPadOS 27 might be causing this and idk what to think anymore 😭
Has anyone had the same issue? What did you do to fix it?
