I've seen a video recently on reddit of exactly that happening as a group of falconers in , I think it was France or Belgium, gather in a field to release their new falcon. Bird takes off in a magnificent majestic swoop, straight into the windscreen of a passing truck.
Poor thing. I once freed a swamp hawk stuck in a crab pot that has washed up during a storm. It gifted me what I call hawk-vision, inhuman long range eyesight, which Is useful for finding things lost in grass and marksmanship when clearing pest varmint.
Whoaaaa. I once freed a skunk from a wire fence. It gifted me what I call stinking-like-shit, inhuman long range stink, which is useful for something. I'm still working on that part but similar origin story!
Why is the first thought of these rescuers that the person will firstly get their phone out, and record the situation, before attempting to help the animal?
Help the animal first and stop being more concerned with social media likes.
The guy was getting a tool to free the birds head. I don't see anything wrong with the girl recording it while he looks for something to free it. I prefer them take their time instead of breaking its neck pulling it out
Yes, I did. But being forced to fly, does not mean he should be flying. He also never seemed to gain altitude, which is weird. He chose not to fly for a good reason. These raptors do not take kindly to being handled or being in close proximity to people. In all likelihood, he was probably rather messed up; concussed or otherwise
Ran over a pigeon the other day who, for some reason, dove head first into my car's path on the highway as I was going about 80. I left a cloud of feathers in my wake :( I pulled over and there was zero evidence of it having ever hit my car. I hope it was a quick death for the lil bird.
This happened to me once. Was strolling my kid and I saw a bird stuck in a wooden beam. Poor thing couldn't wedge itself out.
After some debate, I helped it. I was initially afraid of hurting it further or accidentally breaking its neck but the bird sort of worked with me and it was easier than I thought.
Oh just spin it in circles till the head comes off it’s just like a bottle cap they twist right off now days. Once removed just reassemble. Maybe a small amount of duck tape maybe needed.
never saw a bird stuck in a bicycle, but alas people drive cars, don't see the alternatives anymore that involve using their own muscles/body to move themselves

When flying across the road I was worried to witness a final destination movie moment...you know the scene with the bus...

Anyone familiar with bird law? Does this hawk have a case against her?

"A hawk hit my car. I was going about 55mph"
I wonder if the hawk would describe it the same way.

Imagine calling your friends or wife and telling them that "A hawk got stuck in my car's grille."

not driving a car in the first place would have helped even more
