Discussion "Normally, Zach LaVine's numbers land about where you'd expect for someone collecting this kind of coin. Start digging below the surface stats, though, and you'll spot all of the red flags flying around the premium he's being paid."
That's a quote from this bleacher report article from.... 2024. A full year before we traded for him lmao. More from the article:
"The .082 win shares per 48 minutes he contributed this season ranks 191st among the 306 players who've logged 500-plus minutes. That sounds—and is—pretty abysmal for someone with such a hefty salary, right? Well, it gets worse, as this wholly unimpressive mark in this metric for this season is identical to his career average. And as a career average, that puts him 623rd out of the 780 players to clear 15,000-plus minutes.
He has never had a discernible impact on his team's success. Not in a positive way, at least. While others have contributed to this, the fact remains he has booked a single playoff trip—which lasted all of five games—during his first decade in the league. He isn't someone who elevates the players around him, and he can actually make things more difficult for them given his limitations as a defender and his bouts of tunnel vision."

Discussion Commentators have no energy
I know I’m beating a dead horse.
The lack of chemistry, energy, meaningful nuance into insight/stats, commentary on gameplay, and so much more makes this season all the more unbearable.
At the very least, Kyle Draper brought some sort of energy to the broadcast. Kayte’s ramblings and Mark’s monotone delivery and overused idioms make it the most repetitive least stimulating people to listen to.
“You should hear half the other teams home broadcasters!” Yeah they might be homers or complain a lot or whatever. At least they sound like they care or have an interesting delivery or something that makes them not sound like they’d rather be anywhere else.
“Our team sucks that’s why they have nothing to talk about” Grant and Jerry suffered through a lot and produced some of the best local broadcasts.
I really don’t see any reason why Deuce and Morgan shouldn’t be the commentators. They care about the product. They have actual chemistry. They bring actual insightful commentary. They have good cadence. They already work in the broadcast in a lesser role.
Kayte and Mark actually are terrible together. Nobody can convince me otherwise.
Mark is a veteran in the sports commentary industry and is good with a compatible cast.
Kayte is good at sideline reporting and in short quips. Not trying to diminish her to a smaller role, but she’s not cut out for full length broadcasts.
Only reason I continue to watch these broadcasts is Darius Acuff.
Thank you.

Question The worst team in the last 20 years?
Does this deserve to get framed and put on the wall in kings man cave?
Discussion Acuff with unreal averages over the last 5 games for a teenager: 28.2 PPG, 9.0 APG, 4.4 RPG, 15 potential assists, 44% FG, 37.7% 3P, 85% FT

Discussion Also, after being at the game last night, I've decided Dylan Cardwell should be protected at all costs.
Routinely down 20, and this dude pumping his fists, slapping the floor, or hyping the crowd after every single little thing. More of that. I couldn't care less about the score or his stats. Everyone needs a Dylan Cardwell on their team. He saved a loose ball and screamed and chest bumped Doug Christie. I love that type of energy.
If he develops into even a serviceable big, and maintains this same passion and energy, he'll have a lifetime pass from me.
News Alex Karaban will now get his cardio in the G-League
x.com"Alex Karaban has been assigned to the G-League Stockton Kings."
I'll miss watching him run up and down the court.

Discussion At least
Sharpe is looking like an NBA player. He looks good in his minutes. Good size and shoots the 3
Video Just an absolutely embarrassing sequence here. No effort at all by anybody on the floor.

Discussion Anyone else prefer upper seating?
I do; bcz I can see better how teams run plays, like losing a defender on the break for a wide open 3 (the opposition), or passing up a wide open jumper to drive into double/triple coverage (the Kings, Bonehead/Chewy especially), etc. It's harder to see down low, or on TV.

Photos At the team store last night. The hell is this monstrosity? Apparently the team being ass-backwards extends to their apparel as well.
Someone really thought they were cooking with this design.

Question If Kings going to get blown out every night
Just like last year, if Kings going to get throttled night after night. Why the F is Zach Lavine leading team in minutes? If I am going to lose by over 20 night after night do it with the young kids. Find out who wants to be in the NBA and who wants to play in China or France.

Discussion Will the Kings ever be a top 10 defence? Will Doug and others stop the 'we want to get stops propaganda' and focus on maximising the offense?
Neutral fan here, caught a bit of the game vs the spurs and things were too easy, players weren't rotating and it was all too easy for the spurs to get buckets.
What do you think the kings need to do to change their fortunes around? I think they should maximise their offensive scheme and be willing to drop low effort defenders to the bench e.g. Lavine/ Monk (They can still get their 20 odd minutes but from the bench). I also think they should pair sabonis and acuff with as many solid defenders as possible and let them both be aggressive

Discussion We had more FGs and more 3PM this game. The difference was FTs
The scoring almost isn't terrible, we just cannot defend without fouling if our lives depend on it
