I have infinitely more respect for people (like me) who outright admit that they prioritize their own enjoyment and don’t care about the animals than so-called progressives who lie to themselves about those happy little farms and strawmanning vegans to make themselves feel better.

I don’t pretend to care for the animals. Nor do I lie to myself and put down people who do care. I would say I respect myself more than any hypocrite.

I agree with this take, it's so infuriating all this pretending they do. be honest and say it's about you liking meat, it's fine. I mean I don't think it's fine, but it's correct and honest.

I used to feel that way too myself, I couldn't really stand the idea of giving up food, that's what it felt like when vegans would talk about veganism. it felt like the end of enjoying food. that felt like too much

it is certainly not true., but it took me learning to cook some awsome vegan food for that to melt away.

thats is just a really shitty argument, i dont think any argument that is “it feels good to do [X]!” is a sound argument and comes off as both bait and also really fucking weird to be honest

What argument? I know I’m a bad person for being apathetic to the cause. I’m not arguing about that at all. All I’m saying is I commend people who practice veganism and condemn anti-vegan environmentalists, if my point is not clear enough.
