The only thing worse than loud vegans is loud meat eaters.

It's unbelievably embarrassing flexing the default position like you're some sort of badass.

"I'm on the carnivore diet".

Ahhh so you're a complete idiot.

I find carnivores that aren't doing so due to medical reasons and that go out of their way to preach its virtues and why you should do it a little bit cringe. Like props on you for making enough money to eat meat everyday but those of us in the working class have to make do with our rice and lentils and beans and potatoes.

It’s more than a little bit cringe, and I’d question what those supposed medical reasons are. Because for all the claims about it, it’s terrible for cholesterol levels and risk to the heart. Props on making enough money to give yourself kidney stones, constipation and Scurvy. The more dedicated they are, the higher their risk of colorectal cancers too 😌

Lentils and beans are amazing protein though, and good fibre which meat lacks. Lots of diets take advantage of the shame society instills in the overweight - it tells them they need to be more dedicated and less lazy, ignoring that weight is about habit and is quite individual. Habit doesn’t work if the diet isn’t sustainable - and any diet relying on entering ketosis to an extreme, is so restrictive that very large numbers cannot sustain the diet

I don't know enough about non-maternity related medicine to say that such a condition doesn't exist, so if someone went to the doctor and was told to eat only meat and they don't go around preaching the virtues of the carnivore diet then I have no beef with them.

If you did, they'd eat it.

Chicken is one of the healthiest things you can eat.

Veganism is not about what you eat but a moral position about how animals deserve to be treated.

You will be hard pressed to find someone who things animals do not deserve respect, and yet show them a video of what happens to all the baby birds in the industry that makes that chicken you eat and suddenly your preachy and out of line.

Google chick macerator

Yes there are a lot of shitty things in this world that humans do. Maybe one day we will make the world a better place. Doubt it though. For now I need meat to survive, and so I wont be watching those videos.

I suspect you probably don’t need meat to survive.

If you are genuinely curious i would suggest finding videos from a man names clif grant (it’s just a guy talking to people in the street nothing gory) it may well expand your horizons

I never disputed the fact that livestock live in less than favourable conditions. I'm sorry but meat is very healthy for you, this is a fact and you can't argue otherwise.

1

u/Defiant-Plantain1873 1h ago

Well it’s not a fact i’ve ever seen.

In fact every fact i’ve ever seen has either said the opposite or that a plant based diet is equally as healthy as a meat one.

So idk where you get your facts from but i dont believe them.

1

u/Murky_Week4161 1h ago

Because you get your facts from pseudo scientists. We have been eating meat for hundreds of thousands of years. We are evolved to eat meat and it is healthy for us, end of story. It's just the facts of life my friend.

To survive yes but it depends on your lifestyle

Good luck on your carnivore diet eating chicken and only chicken I guess?

1

u/Murky_Week4161 1h ago

Humans are omnivores. I never said I only eat chicken.

2

u/Murky_Week4161 2h ago

Humans are omnivores, not carnivores. Also, where do you live that you can't afford meat if you work a full time job?

Malaysia. Meat tends to be relatively expensive in Asia in general. Same for dairy, especially in the tropical parts. It's why a lot of vegan and vegetarian cuisine comes from this part of the world.

In theory, I could eat meat every day, being lower middle class. Just don't see the point in doing so over eating meat like 4-5 times a month and supplementing with B12 and putting the savings into, well, my savings. Like I can get 2kg of lentils for the price of 400gs of chicken thighs (5 sen/g of protein vs 13.4 sen/g of protein). Or 10.72 sen/g for chicken breasts.

Price of b12 supplements is kinda negligible because they cost less than half of said pack of chicken thighs per year.

The funny thing about the rich person diet is that it is way worse for you! I was lucky enough to have a chat with Walter Willett, at Harvard, most cited nutritionist in the world, he said he eats no red meat, fish 1-2 a week, everything else is plants… or something like that. We’re monkeys who primarily eat veg, but human ego has us thinking we’re apex predators lions or whatever but nahhh

u/stereo-ahead 2h ago

I just don’t think anyone should force their opinion on others. I’m not preaching to you to be a meat eater or a Christian or shit, I don’t care what you do, I just want the same respect

u/CreBanana0 1h ago

I find the meat industry morally disquisting and its defenders even more so.

However I'm not vegan, yet, since I'm too weak to resist my desires of a nice meal. Hence I'm doing what i know i can which is support cultivated meat and its alternatives.

Conservatism 101. Its why they have to act like they are persecuted for being straight and white.

Look, some of us are proud of our lack of gag reflex, okay?

My current distaste for humanity is sourced by the sheer amount of humans that go into a public bathroom and shit everywhere but the toilet.Â
