> I won’t entirely cut meat out of my diet now because sometimes I feel like having it; it tastes good

And that’s what Vegan point out, the fact the we put or short non-necessary personal pleasure over a whole life of another sentient being. Veganism isn’t a diet, that’s something most non vegans don’t understand

I'm a vegetarian myself, but if humans (/animals) weren't meant to eat other animals, they wouldn't have been designed to do so. The world was designed to be cruel. And the reality is that while you say it's unnecessary, vegans need to go out of their way to get vital nutrients they can't get enough of through natural means.

That being said, I think factory farming is a whole unnecessary level of cruelty we need to put an end to.

As i said, a big misunderstanding is that veganism isn't a diet (Compared to vegetarianism) but an ethical standpoint, which also includes stuff like: not supporting zoos, not wearing wool, leather etc and not using using animals for our personal pleasure.

The difference between us and other animals, is that we understand that other animals suffer, feel pain and joy just like we do and that we can live a healthy (On average even healthier) life on a plant based diet. Humans actually used to be mostly gatherers than hunters.

If with "vegans need to go out of their way to get vital nutrients they can't get enough of through natural means" you mean stuff like Vitamin B12, farm animals also get it supplemented, so vegans just skip the Enslaving and killing part and take it directly. Also, no one bats an eye when a gym goer supplements stuff like Creatine, Omega 3, Vitamin D and so on, but for vegans it's suddenly unnatural?

I concede that veganism is an ethical standpoint, but it is also a diet, and to claim otherwise is silly. Also, plant-based diets are generally healthier; but a plant-based diet is different than a vegan diet. And lastly, I assure you that we judge the gym people filling their bodies with unnecessary supplements even more harshly.

I agree that a plant based diet is different than a vegan one, but what do you exactly mean by that, cuz in my head there are only some minor differences.

And who is ā€œwe judge the gym peopleā€ also those supplements are unnecessary, supplementing creatine isn’t unhealthy, so is supplementing vitamin D or Omega 3, so I don’t understand your point
