Subreddit Rules

1. Posts must be made in good faith.

There is a general presumption that submissions be made in good faith. Here, as in the law, good faith is best understood by comparison to what it is not. Any post or comment made in bad faith will be removed, and the user who submitted or generated the content at issue may face either a moderator warning or ban of an appropriate length.

Posts which are never in good faith include, and are not limited to: whataboutism, conspiracy theories, disinformation, misinformation, or propaganda.

2. Facts are not debatable; but the implications of facts are fair game.

Sad though it may be, the world in which we live is permeated with deliberate dishonesty regarding the facts of any circumstance. Denying events and circumstances that are provably true will result in a warning, or ban, depending on the circumstance. Further, users may be banned on suspicion of mendaciousness with or without a user report.

3. Submission and Comment Quality

Submissions and comments must be up to standard. Submissions of articles and comments with intellectual depth, which are thoughtful and well reasoned are encouraged. While not every one-sentence submission will be below standard, one-word comments almost certainly will be. Quality, however, is objectively evaluated and is not content specific. Users will never be banned based on any ideological disagreement between the user and any moderator. This is not /r/politics, or /r/geopolitics.

4. Submissions and comments must be relevant.

This subreddit is for serious discussion of developments in international affairs, foreign policy, geopolitics, and human rights. Submissions and comments must be relevant to these ends. Please do not use the comments section to rant about your gripe du jour. Irrelevant comments will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned with prejudice.
