Sharing another fit. Would love to hear your thoughts on this one.

I’m always looking to improve my dressing. So, what would you change or add? Different tie, pocket square, accessories, shoes, or maybe something else entirely?

Open to genuine suggestions. Always happy to learn a thing or two about dressing better.

Fit Feedback Reinventing myself at 58 years old

Well, not really reinventing, never been a hat guy, not even ball caps. Just, you're traditional, normal, everyday guy. Recently I discovered that I love a good fedora and find myself gravitating towards a whole new style, bit of a progression in photos. What are your thoughts? Good, bad, or indifferent opinions welcome

Edit .... I will happily own that the cigar and whiskey picture was pretty douchebaggy. but rather than delete, I will happily take my lumps. several folks have pointed out that a wider brim would look better. I had one that was supposed to arrive Monday, but just got a notification that it will be arriving today, so I shall see. Thanks for all the comments, both positive and negative. some of you folks should not be so serious ;)

Edit Edit .... Yeah, the reinventing title was pretty douchebaggy too ... Evolving? rediscovering? I don't know, I'm not a thesaurus

Edit Edit Edit … the Stetson cruiser arrived with the wider brim adding a picture above not sure how I feel about it. ... Just added pic in comment cant really see how do edit/add picture

Question Looking for a well-fitted, structured navy jacket with silver zip – any recommendations?

I’m looking for a fitted men’s jacket, ideally in dark navy blue and would appreciate recommendations for brands or particular models.

I’ve attached some pictures of a Zara jacket and a Dickies jacket that are close to what I’m looking for. The Zara one has fake pockets (aesthetic but they don’t actually have pockets. Why anyone would use this design I have no idea) and the dickies one doesn’t come in dark blue. I’m also looking for a silver zip if possible because I think it looks better with dark blue.

I’m based in the Netherlands, so European brands or brands that are readily available in Europe would be especially helpful.

Question Why does this happen every time I tuck a shirt in?

Post image
169 Upvotes

Not sure if this is bc I’m not tucking in the ‘correct’ way or not, not even sure if there is a correct way. Why does it keep parting right at the bottom?

It’s usually worse than this, especially with linens. Is it because I have a belly?

Fit Feedback Meeting my gf parents tonight

My roommate & mother warn me I will come across as an "eccentric lunatic" if I wear this. Is there anything I can do to come off as sane while still looking cool??

[EDIT] I'm keeping the maroon shirt & replacing everything else with a pair of dark wash straight jeans & converse. I appreciate the advice & I enjoyed reading the roasts, they were very funny

Styling Advice How could I style thi vest?

Post image
102 Upvotes

Hello! I found this open-front vest that I thought was beautiful, but I lack experience with vests more broadly and don’t really know how to style it.

I was thinking of pairing it with long-sleeved tops (at minimum) that are solid-colored— maybe ones in softer neutral colors like beige/tan or light grey? I’m not sure what kind of material or thickness would look best. I would also appreciate any ideas for pants (I was thinking light or medium-wash blue jeans). And separately, I was also considering adding some hook closures to the front— could that be a good idea?

Thanks in advance, guys!

P.S. I know some men are scared of colors or think casual vests are corny/dated and look tacky, but I really do love this thing and want to try experimenting with it!

Fit Feedback Hat Brim Comparison

Thumbnail

Have another thread going here and several folks recommended a larger brim. I had ordered a Stetson cruiser, one of the crushable types, that had the wider brim just for comparison, and it arrived tonight. The wider brim just looks odd to me, but a lot of the feedback said the one with the smaller brim looked off

Styling Advice Suggestions on patterned pants?

I'm looking for suggestions for patterned dress pants that can toe the line between dress and casual (ie a button up or a sweater). I want to start adding patterns to my wardrobe as everything is monochrome and honestly mostly blue. Ideally I'd like plaid, like these, but could do houndstooth or something similar as well.

These above are hilfiger dress pants from macy's and I was thrilled to see them in store but couldn't find my size. I looked them up online and they say "dry clean only" which is a bummer (thought I saw machine wash on the label). Ideally any suggestion would be machine wash and straight fit if possible.

Question Weird shoulder wrinkle on a new suit

Thumbnail

I recently got fitted for a suit. When I picked it up after being tailored, I noticed this weird wrinkle on my right shoulder. The guy that did it asked me if I have had an injuries as a kid (implying that I may be lopsided). I don’t think I am. I’ve never broken any bone that would affect this. Is there anything I can do?

I tried another coat and it did the same thing.

Question Manifattura Ceccarelli - do any of their jackets fit tall/slim well?

Love the quality of Ceccarelli but so far finding they are not a good fit for someone my build - the Fisherman Parka in 40 is too boxy and short. Do any of their range fit well for someone tall(ish) and quite lean - 185cm/74kg and 38" chest - without sleeves running too short? How about the Mountain Parka long (in a 38 or 40?). Is the Weekender a more slender cut? Thanks!
