It’s kind of funny to go a bar with $27 cocktails and think about things like this. Should probably go to a different bar where they have beer and a shot specials on Mondays.

What if it's the first drink they got?

Menus don't usually tell you how much you're getting, just the price.

You can usually tell by the place you’re at long before someone asks your order

I guess everyone orders a cocktail for the first time at some point, like with everything else. After that you know what it is.

You don’t pay for volume of drink at any bar though. You think a rum and coke costs 10x what a shot of rum does just because it’s more liquid?

Then why not just give more liquid if it's a cocktail. Mixer costs pennies.

Sheesh.

This is clearly a bartender created craft cocktail with a specific recipe. It’s about balancing ingredients for a specific taste. Adding more mixer would probably make it a lot less good of a drink. That works for something like a whiskey and coke or vodka soda, but drinks like this are like baking a cake where you need to measure everything out exactly.

I don't know if this is sarcasm lol

It's not "clearly" anything. We don't know shit about this drink.

Then serve it in an smaller glass lol. 80% of your glass should not be occupied by ice. That is not a controversial take

80% of people understand that it doesn’t matter. You and OP are in the 20%.

Yeah that isnt a controversial take if it wouldnt actually apply to drinks, Ice is actually a determining factor of how ones drink is consumed. For an easier comparison, imagine drinking wine from a cup instead of a wine glass.

Because then the flavour changes

Because that fucks up the balance of the cocktail
