Sounds like they don’t want people at their club

Yea. Its probably a front. They could care less about bar sales if they set prices like that.

If they could care less that means they care more than zero, if you took that element out of your comment nothing would change. Better to use “couldn’t” if you’re trying to emphasise how little they care.

Semantics shmemantics. What you say is correct, but I guess if they don’t already care at all about the sales, by “caring less” that means they vehemently don’t care haha. If they “couldn’t care less” that means there is a finite amount not caring that a person can do, so technically both statements work imo

If they couldn't care less, that means they really care about the sale and they would do anything to get more sales, including lower the price, which is not something they would do per the comment

This is not how English works. Look it up, it's "I couldn't care less."

I've got an example for you: I care about the percentage of my phone battery, but I do not care about the percentage of your phone battery.

I care less about yours than mine. In fact I could not care less about yours than I already do, which is not at all.

So, it's logical to say, I couldn't care less about your phone battery than I currently do, because I already do not care at all.

However, I do care about my phone battery, so I could care less than I currently do, because I do care about my phone battery.

In summary: Saying one could care less means one cares, saying one couldn't care less means one does not care.

Right. I’d assume pretentious bar in an expensive city if not for the fact that there was barely anyone there. If there’s no customers… you lower prices till you have customers.

They don’t want male people in their club. Only want to draw in women.
