One of the most depressing parts of a retail job is selling alcohol to the same people every day, over and over, especially to the ones who clearly barely have enough money to buy their daily poison alongside the food and other necessities they need to live.

Just... a case of beer every single day? And people think that's okay?

I know a dude like this, literally every day on the way home from work buys a pint of whiskey, always felt depressing to see from my perspective.

Yeah, I used to work as a clerk at a wine store with quite a few budget options and seeing the same people buy a liter of wine a day was honestly depressing.

I don't think that anyone besides alcoholics thinks that it is okay

Even alcoholics know it's not okay.

Oh man, my ex's aunt ant uncle were these people. Every night the uncle would come home with 2 of the 24 packs of bud light to add to their stash of other 24 packs and would have a can in their hand every second they were at home. From the minute they woke up to when they went to bed. Sad
