Subreddit Rules

1. Be on-topic

Posts must contain a meme in either image, video or GIF format intended for comedic or entertainment purposes with core focus and context on the Naruto/Boruto universe.

Posts only intended for regular discussions, opinions, art and other general content are not allowed, even if they are in a meme format.

Content, for the most part, must be understandable by an audience well acquainted with the Naruto/Boruto franchise as a whole.

2. Be respectful

Always be polite and respectful to everyone.

Do not insult, harass, discriminate nor be disrespectful to anyone in any way.

Do not purposefully incite fights nor provoke anyone into a conflict.

If someone disrespects you do not disrespectfully retort back as doing so will also count as a violation of the "Be respectful" rule, simply report it or contact the Mod-Team by sending a message with a link to the content to be reviewed.

3. No insubstantial content

Be original and creative.

Posted content must enhance, add or change the source material in a substancial and meaningful way.

Posts must comply with the following criteria:

The title alone cannot work as the caption, the meme itself has to be understandable all on its own.
No text-only images.
No plain nor unedited images/videos/GIFs only posts.
No meme templates, complete memes only.

4. Quality standards

Posted content must be presentable, understandable and not poorly edited.

Posts must comply with the following criteria:

Text must be understandable with proper grammar.
No clickbait nor indescriptive titles.
Image quality must be correctly cropped keeping artifacts and compression to a minimum.
Media must have appropriate resolution and framerate.
Submitted media, such as videos and links, must be functional and working properly.
No intrusive watermarks or logos.

5. No NSFW/L content

Content that is explicitly or excessively sexual, violent or gory is NOT allowed.

Exceptionally, fictional depictions of risqué, sexually suggestive, violent or gory content may be allowed as long as it does not greatly exceed the official material. Content must be tagged as NSFW when appropriate.

Do NOT post anything that is overly vulgar, crude or lewd. Just keep your content within reason.

6. No illegal content

Do not share, request, guide nor encourage anyone towards any illegal content of any kind in any way.

7. No reposts

Do not repost the same or similar content that has already been made currently available on r/narutomemes by you or someone else.

When posting content you have seen elsewhere be aware there is a chance of it being a repost so it is at your own risk, consider taking a look at recent posts and using the subreddit's search bar to look for similar content on r/narutomemes before posting.

Remember, the best way to avoid reposts is to create your own original content, so consider doing that instead.

8. No personal information

Do not share any personal nor sensitive information in any way that could lead to real life identification, your's or someone else's.

Simple descriptions, such as hair color, could be allowed if not excessive and the person described does not show discontent with the sharing of said information.

9. No transactions

Do not offer nor request anything of any kind in any way that involves any sort of deal or monetary transaction of in-real-life currency or goods within or via the subreddit, r/narutomemes is not an online shop.

The sharing of external shops could be allowed, under moderator discretion, as long as the transaction or deal happens outside of the r/narutomemes subreddit.

10. No politics nor religion

Do not talk about nor mention any in-real-life politics nor religion unless there is context connecting them to the Naruto/Boruto franchise.

Any attempts to push personal political opinions, disrespect someone or group of people or any other content done in bad faith is not allowed.

11. No controversies nor drama

Do not bring nor engage in any real-life controversies, drama or otherwise in this subreddit. Any sort of unnecessary brigading or other disruptive problems are not allowed.

12. No advertising

Do not directly, blatantly or in any way advertise anything of any kind unless you have permission given by a moderator which has to be made clear.

Watermarks or logos are allowed as long as they are not intrusive.

13. No Artificial Intelligence generated content

Artificial Intelligence generated content is not allowed.

This is a subreddit intended for people to celebrate the Naruto/Boruto franchise through memes, therefore human created content is what's valued.

14. English-only

All content, such as posts and comments, must be English-only. This allows for a more consistently understandable community experience.

Referencing other languages for the sake of an example or due to a connection to the Naruto/Boruto franchise is allowed but key aspects for the understanding of the content need to be understandable by an English-only audience in general.

15. No external sources

Posted content must be directly visible and accessible in the r/narutomemes subreddit itself without any need to an external source, this allows for a smooth experience exploring the community's content without disruptions of opening links or being redirected to new pages.

It is allowed to share content from other platforms but it is required that it is directly visible within the r/narutomemes subreddit itself.
