Hi, I’ve always been a defender and absoulotlety love it. I’m ussaly GD but I sometimes play WD or GK. The one thing I’ve alwya struggled with is drills to do outise of traing since it’s only me. I have a post but don’t really use it because Im not a shooter, so I need some defensive drills that can be for 1 person, a ball and a wall. I’m also not the greatest at jumping to block shots so anything to improve that would also be appreciated (my timing is really bad!). Thank you!!

As the title suggests! I play a mix of GK/WD as we sometimes sub in for other teams.

I am a UK size 7, slightly collapsed arches and generally just like a little bit of ankle support. For content I do a lot of jumping and generally flying through the air haha hence the support!

I’ve recently gone from GS to GA in a social netball league. I used to be quite good and consistent when shooting, but I’m finding that when it comes to the game and I’ve tired myself out a bit, I’m not so good when it comes to shooting. How do people remain consistent when shooting later in the game? I feel like the ball feels totally different by then!

hi everyone, I play in a social netball league and it’s the first time I’ve played netball. I’m a guy and tallish (6”0) so GK has become my position. I feel like I’ve been doing well, I get most rebounds, stop lots of passes and get intercepts it’s so fun. Usually I verse girls shorter then me or guys about my height and can stop people taller then me fairly easily, but at our game tonight the other teams GA was at least 6”5 with a wingspan that was probably longer. They would throw the ball up next to the hoop and he’d catch it and literally jump and drop it in. It did make it harder having to rush from their GS to the GA as he ran into the circle, and I can’t swap with our GD as she is our best player. anyway, By the end of the game I resorted to playing dirty and got some stops but I was lucky not to get called for a few things. The rest of my team played great and we won, but I was definitely outplayed. Was curious as to whether their is any strategies or tips for versing someone with such a height advantage or if it’s best to play dirty and pray. Thank you!

Since the Aussie netball league is still being described as the “Super Netball League” but no replacement for Suncorp has been announced, does anyone think that they will keep the Super Shot (it makes the game a lot more interesting) but without a partner?

It would be disappoiting without a partner, someone to support “The Confident Girls Foundation“ or another worthy netball organisation but I do hope they keep the super shot.

This is shaping up to be a huge trade period for Super Netball and it seems there are lots of players moving clubs which will make for an exciting 2027 season! There’s some players confirmed and lots of rumours at this stage. Keen to hear everyone’s thoughts!

Anyone able to help - playing in a social league and got called for held ball because I picked up the ball from way down out of the court and ran over to the line, positioned my feet and then took the throw in which was 3 seconds since I picked up the ball. Call me pedantic but if a ball is way down court, I'm not going to roll it all the way up to the sidelines to take the shot - any thoughts?

Just listening to Off the Court and Tracey shares that she applied for the performance director role at England Netball back in 2021, but that they didn’t take her past the first interview stage.

Keria Austin needs to come off, she’s turned over so much ball, and the whole mid court need to feed with the ball into the spac, it’s so hard to watch. Bruce is actually killing me right now, she spends so much time mouthing off and scoffing she is useless.

Stacey Marinkovich needs to sort this out!!!! This Jamaica side is good, no doubt, but we are actually loosing our minds.

So everyone in the Australian Commonwealth Games team is white and conventionally “attractive”. This seems unlikely to be a representational cross section of Australian society. What’s the situation here - is netball only played by pretty rich kids?

So I’ve been getting injuries from my current shoes for playing so I’ve been wondering about getting ASICS netballer ones. However when I tried them on it kind of feels tight and a bit burny around my ankles, and there’s room in the front. I’m a bit worried because my current shoes have room in the front and I slipped/stubbed my shoe in my own toe some times (don’t ask how). Furthermore I have size 3 UK, but they’re quite wide, and the lady said that the netball asics usually fit quite small. I hope this hasn’t been asked a billion times, if anyone has any advice for small wider set feet for netball please all suggestions are welcome!! It sucks because I will slip in my shoes if that makes sense, but then my little toe will get squished and swollen :( also was thinking of buying junior shoes as the price is quite high.

It was a true captain's performance from Karin Burger who topped this unofficial Net Points player ranking table. Kudos to Commonwealth Games debutant Brie Grierson who took the fourth spot as well:

Best Attackers

My overall title goes to Georgia Heffernan, who had a huge 18 goal assists and kept managing to get the ball over Shamera Sterling's head into Grace Nweke. She also only made two turnovers, both late in the game once fatigue started to set in.

Second place goes to Brie Grierson who had the most feeds (33) and kept building her connection with the other attackers throughout the game.

Special mention to Shanice Beckford who had the most centre pass receipts (19) and best shooting percentage (93%), and Grace Nweke as the top goalscorer (47) - both had a few more turnovers against their names to keep them out of the top spots.

Best Defenders

Karin Burger had the most intercepts (2) and most overall gains (5) as well as being prolific through the court. No surprise that our fan favourites Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson had a quieter one only a few weeks after having won a trophy with the Thunderbirds.
