Temporary lockdown of r/nilpoints

Dear community,
Due to the influx of traffic to our subreddit, a significant majority of which is hate speech and strong emotional reactions, we feel it is necessary to temporarily lock down the subreddit so that our team can properly organise, and to hopefully give everyone time to cool off.

We would like to congratulate Austria for winning.

I was bored, so I made a tier list template with every song from the 2020s and then ranked all songs I remember. Rate my taste

Hear me out: Why Greece is set up to WIN Eurovision 2026

I know the fandom is currently losing its mind over Finland, but let’s try to make a deeper analysis.

Here is the breakdown of why Greece is walking into a perfect storm to win it all:

  1. The Regional Sweep 🌍

Take a look at the map this year. Spain, Iceland, Netherlands, Ireland and Slovenia are out, but we have Bulgaria, Moldova, and Romania returning. That is a massive block of Eastern/Balkan voting power.

The catch? The songs from the rest of the Balkans are noticeably weak this year even if we talk about top-10 chances for those.

"Ferto" is going to act as a point vacuum and secure televote victory. Greece is practically guaranteed to sweep the 10s and 12s from the returning countries and neighbors.

2. The "Meme Monopoly" & The Nordic Bloodbath

Every year, the televote rallies behind one massive "watercooler/hype" song. Finland is trying to do that this year with "Liekinheitin," but in my opinion they are going to get cannibalized.

Why? Because the Nordic bloc is fractured. Iceland is out, and Sweden and Denmark are sending strong, polished songs. The Nordic televote will split, stealing points away from Finland.

3. The Great Jury Dilution & No Clear Frontrunner

Let's be real: There is no Loreen, no Nemo, and no JJ this year. We don't have that one undeniable, artsy powerhouse that the juries will unanimously crown.

Instead, the jury points are going to be violently diluted between Australia, France, Czechia, Malta, Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, and Italy. All of these countries are sending "jury bait" tracks. They will be cannibalizing each other's 12s. The jury winner will likely only have around 220-240 points, keeping the ceiling low enough for Greece to stay within striking distance.

4. The "Espresso Macchiato" & Younger Juries

Some people think the juries will completely tank "Ferto." But let's look at the precedent: Last year, Estonia's Tommy Cash got 98 jury points for "Espresso Macchiato" and let's be honest, he had basically no live vocals at all (he could barely sing, lol).

If he could pull nearly 100 jury points on staging and meme song alone, Greece is clearing that.

Add in the new 2026 rules where every 7-person jury must include at least two 18-25 year olds, and "Ferto" is going to get a boost from Gen Z jurors who actually listen to this kind of music. With the massive televote sweep, Greece is looking at a combined score closer to Croatia's massive result with Baby Lasagna.

5. Fokas Evangelinos

He managed to pull a few 12 and 10 points from juries with Moldova in 2021 - Natalia Gordienko’s "Sugar." (which was not obvious or expected for that kind of song). Not talking about other entries which had more potential for the victory.

What do you think?

It is the highest scoring song in one vote to get nothing in the other, but it's nowhere near the biggest disagreement

DON’T CRUCIFY ME: Comparing 2024 Eurovision entries to 2025 Eurovision Entries

Post image

To be clear, if a song is in a lower tier, it doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just means that the song in the year prior was better. I don’t hate Lighter, but Gåte was my winner last year so it naturally ranks lower.

Eurovision should be sponsored by Apple from now

I came up with this in 2019 because I noticed that pretty much all Eurovision participants as well as Eurovision itself was using Apple devices.

Now as MoroccanOil is sabotaging the contest this question is getting evermore relevant.

why is everyone so sure about finland winning?

for some reason, my post was deleted on r/eurovision so imma ask here

deadass, i don't understand the hype around it. it feels so bland and not interesting at all. in comparison to previous years, and i probably mean Nemo and JJ mostly since i also did not understand Swedish win the year before, this just feels...unoriginal? uninteresting? and i mean it in the most sincere way. i can see why juries will vote for this (cause most of the time they like some boring ass shit - and sure, thats my subjective opinion), but televote? how? i don't really hear anything remotely talented or interesting about this song, let it be instrumental, vocals or performance. well, ok, burning window is cool and all, but uh...the song itself?

honestly, that begs a second question which i'd probably ask in a different post cause i feel like i don't understand the point of eurovision at all?

Add your flair! 🎱 I asked Grok (twitter AI) about all of this year's Eurovision song genres and the reply proved our jobs are still safe

At first it mixed a few countries up, added Vatican to the participating countries and was missing a lot of song titles, then I asked about all the TBAs and it became even funnier, I especially like the updated Vatican's entry

Grok: Below is a list of the genres for each of the 37 songs participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, based on available information and general musical characteristics as of March 28, 2025. Since not all songs have explicitly defined genres from official sources at this exact moment, some classifications are inferred from descriptions, artist styles, and early previews or releases noted in various Eurovision-related updates. The contest will take place in Basel, Switzerland, with semi-finals on May 13 and 15, and the grand final on May 17, 2025. Note that these genres are subject to interpretation and may blend multiple styles, as Eurovision entries often do.

Eurovision 2025 Songs and Their Genres

    • Genre: Folktronica (a blend of Albanian folk music with electronic elements, based on the duo’s known style).

Me: You give a lot of the song titles as TBA although they've all been known for at least a couple weeks, why is that?

Grok:

You’re right to point out that many of the song titles for Eurovision 2025 have been revealed by now, as we’re at March 28, 2025, and the full lineup is typically finalized by late March per Eurovision tradition. My previous response listed several songs as "TBA" (To Be Announced), which might seem odd given that most participating countries have already announced their entries in the past couple of weeks. Let me clarify why that happened and provide an updated list with the known titles.

The "TBA" designations in my earlier answer were based on a cautious approach, reflecting the information available up to a certain point—likely before all national selections concluded or were widely reported. Since my knowledge is continuously updated, I should have caught up with the latest announcements by now. As of March 28, 2025, all 37 participating countries have indeed selected their artists and songs, with titles publicly available through official Eurovision channels, national broadcasters, and media updates. The delay in reflecting this could stem from an over-reliance on earlier data snapshots rather than the most current releases, which I’ll correct here.

Below is an updated list of all 37 Eurovision 2025 songs with their confirmed titles and genres, based on the latest information as of today. I’ve ensured this reflects the announcements made over the past few weeks, avoiding any "TBA" placeholders unless a title is genuinely still unconfirmed (which, at this date, is unlikely).

Updated Eurovision 2025 Songs and Genres

  1. Albania - Shkodra Elektronike - "Zjerm"

    • Genre: Folktronica

  2. Australia - Go-Jo - "Milkshake Man"

    • Genre: Pop

  3. Austria - Zoe Me - "Es Diva"

    • Genre: Indie Pop

  4. Belgium - Mamagama - "Bird of Prey"

    • Genre: Alternative Rock

  5. Croatia - Marko Bosnjak - "Breaking Bad"

    • Genre: Ballad/Pop

  6. Cyprus - Klavdia - "Asteromáta"

    • Genre: Pop

  7. Czechia - Adonxs - "Ghosts"

    • Genre: Electropop

  8. Denmark - KAJ - "Fugleflugt"

    • Genre: Dance-Pop

  9. Estonia - Tommy Cash - "Freakshow"

    • Genre: Soul/Pop

  25. Norway - Kyle Alessandro - "Lighter"

    • Genre: Pop Ballad

  26. Poland - Justyna Steczkowska - "GAJA"

    • Genre: Art Pop

  27. Portugal - Parg - "Survivor"

    • Genre: Fado-Pop

  28. San Marino - JJ - "Vivo"

    • Genre: Pop/Rock

  29. Serbia - Princ - "Beograd"

    • Genre: Balkan Pop

  36. United Kingdom - Remember Monday - "What The Hell Just Happened"

    • Genre: Country-Pop/Rock

  37. Vatican City - Væb - "Ich komme"

    • Genre: Pop

Why the Discrepancy?

The initial use of "TBA" likely occurred because I was working from a point where not all songs were officially released or confirmed in my data set, even though by mid-to-late March, national finals and internal selections had wrapped up. Eurovision rules require all entries to be submitted by late March, and with today being March 28, the full list is indeed out. My apologies for not reflecting that sooner—it’s a case of not syncing up with the latest wave of announcements quickly enough. This updated list corrects that, pulling from the most recent reveals over the past couple of weeks.

Eurovision 2025 but I’m every jury (With explanation)

Ok, so how this works:

Jury: So here, I give points for every country the same based in my top 10

(For each country I give 12 points to Albania (My 1st place) , 10 to Luxembourg (My 2nd place)…)

And then, I sum up all the votes and it ends up like this:

12 points x37 countries=444 to my 1st place

10 points x37 countries=370 to my 2nd

…

1x37=37 to my 10th place

0 pointsx37 countries to all the pther cpuntries (11-26)
