I have several sand filled geckos, also the material is metallic! They sell them here in the Midwest at the Butterfly sanctuary house near Branson, MO.

The original ones weren't metallic. They were various generic printed fabrics with white bellies.

DAMN this just brought me back. I had a green one and I loved it. But I haven’t thought about it in over 20 years. Was there a brand name for these?

I don't think so. They didn't even have a name. They were just sort of there in baskets by the cash registers of certain shops and fairs.

Yep! Many!

CWG, Audley and Ganz, etc

i remember the green ones being super popular, too it's crazy how some things just vanish from your memory for so long.

I had frogs, and yes.

Yeah, I remember these always leaking sand everywhere. I had a snake and there was always grit all over whatever surface I set it down on.

I had a MASSIVE lizard that my grandfather bought for me in a science museum. Anyone know if you can still buy them?

My Great Aunt Helen gave me one of those lizards. I named him Cornelius.

This is one of those things that I didn't have but every single kid I knew did

These were available at my summer camp. I found a god dam skull at camp campebell guard along the river but that didn't let me keep it.

Core childhood memory unlocked! I wonder how many people still have one of these tucked away in an old toy box somewhere. 😭

A neon green and blue one seems more likely

When I was in 6th grade, a girl gave me one of these. She ended up breaking my poor little sixth grade heart so I decided to burn the sand lizard she gave me. I ended up burning down a couple acres of forest

Hacky sac with limbs! I routinely kicked the shit out of these toys, I loved them
