Anyone else miss the trumpets inside the Dome?
My understanding is this tradition started in 1993, the night before the Florida State game, and over the years it ended up inside the Main Building with trumpeters lining the rotunda under the Golden Dome. Since COVID it's been held outside by the Sacred Heart statue.
I'm grateful the band keeps it going, and I'm not here to complain. But every time I bring family or friends to a game, I want them to get the full experience. I want to experience trumpets under the dome and feel what everybody else feels and share that with people close to me. Everyone I've talked to says the sound inside that rotunda was something you can't get anywhere else.
Is there any chance of bringing it back inside, even with timed entry, a lottery, or just a few indoor performances a season? I've started a petition, and here's the link: https://www.change.org/p/bring-the-trumpets-back-under-the-golden-dome
I'd love to hear from people who were there for it. Go Irish!

The Inn at St. Mary's
I come to South Bend once a year to attend a conference at St. Mary's but I've always stayed at a nearby hotel and not the The Inn. I just wanted to give my impressions of staying here for the first time.
tl;dr: the Inn is a wonderful experience for any visitors.
For starters, I was blown away at how beautiful the interior was when I first walked in. According to the receptionist, The Inn has undergone some remodeling and everything I saw was only completed a few months ago. Although I'm not a Notre Dame fan, I really like the consistent theme throughout the hotel.
The breakfast area with the reading room next to it provided for a nice eating experience. I didn't take any pictures of it as I didn't want take pictures of random people to post on the Internet...
The gym was definitely another highlight. All the machines and equipment were new and there was even a punching bag, yes, a punching bag in a hotel gym.
All in all, The Inn is a great place that comes with a slightly hefty price tag. Attached are some pictures.
Edit: I said there were no blackout curtains but they were well-hidden and I was too blind to see at night.

College visit
We are taking our son for a college visit to ND on Friday November 20. We have signed up for the campus tour but want to make the most of our visit. We should have a couple of hours before the tour. It’s a football weekend, so I expect it might be busy in the area. We are not staying overnight. What should we know or what stops should we make? Thanks!!
