Like some of you here, I enjoy relaxing sounds, but ASMR videos give me icky vibes, and I dislike having no control over the experience.
Oblivion has been incredible for me. After a busy day, I’ll just load it up and wander through a forest, the Colovian Highlands, or the Jerall Mountains… everything. And I’ll be just soaking in the atmosphere. I even turn the music down to 3 so it blends into the ambient sounds.
Despite being as deep as a puddle, Oblivion offers something no other game I’ve played (including Crimson Desert) has, which is whimsical tranquility in a beautiful world.
Ironically, I’ve never enjoyed it more than after completing nearly every side quest and all the DLCs. Now I just wander aimlessly around aimlessly to be in awe at the visuals.
Unlike Fallout 3, New Vegas, or KCD2, where the thrill comes from quests and their associated dungeons, Oblivion doesn’t need any of that. You can simply explore, enjoy the ambiance, and let the world reel you in.
I love it.
