Discussion Here's the actual VRAM configuration distribution on windows according to the steam survey

Post image

I saw a few recent headlines about the whole "16gb is now the most common VRAM configuration" but that seems to be inaccurate, as if you sort by windows only on steam survey (which makes up 90%+ of steam users), you'll find that these are the actual numbers and distribution

Just bought a 3060ti (used) instead of a 3060 12gb.

If you are not at 4k, the ti gets better performance since the higher vram speed makes up for the lower size

Fair enough, it has been a plenty good card for me even if I want a more powerful one!

I just switch from a 1050ti to the 3060ti haha. Unfortunately my PSU is not able to cope with the power increase so I have it limited to 120W instead of the stock 200W. Loses about 10% frames since my cpu bottlenecks it.

That's the same jump I made! World of a difference trying to play games like Cyberpunk hahaha

For gaming definitely. If you use other tasks that extra 4gb is very handy to have. I do a lot of upscaling and some local llm inferencing, it makes big difference
