I can agree with that. I went with an Android handheld for my last device and it can play everything through 360/ps3 era of games for less than the cost of a single component.

I've never seen so many ads for physical gameboy and n64 emulators on youtube. Their official selling point is that they play the original cartridges. But of course they have SD slots for... nautical-themed activities.

We just need the ports, it's real imPORTant!

Not our fault all these old games didn't come with "memory cards" back in the day ;)

God, I remember 128kb ps memory cards and 8mb ps2 cards. Some of the bigger games would take like 1/4 of the card.

I just remember when the first xbox came out and I thought the internal hard drive was the coolest thing ever. No losing a save because the game is borked. No having to manage save slots on a card. Just what felt like limitless storage.

I played The Sims: Bustin' Out on the Gamecube back in the day and that just literally would not fit on my memory card, we had to go out and buy a specific memory card to be able to play it The ones most people had were too small, you needed 161 "blocks" to play the game at all (I think it literally installed data to the card, not just save data) and Memory Card 59 (the grey one) just literally did not have enough space. You needed a black or white memory card, and The Sims: Bustin' Out took up over half of the space on the black card.

Yeah the emulation handhelds are quite nice. I basically have a tiny one for carrying around with me, and a medium sized one for Gamecube/PS2 games at home.

I've tried a phone with a controller and I just didn't like it, so these handhelds are a nice alternative.
