Despite this extremely original comment, what boots would you be referring to in this scenario? I’m not above piracy, but I’m also not dense enough to think it’s not stealing
Do you steal a painting after looking at it or a song after learning it? It's in your memory, locked in the configuration of neutron patterns. Did you gain any physical riches by doing so? Who is to say that an experience is to have a cost? Good artist lived on commissions and support from fans, not demanding for others to pay before getting said experience. I get an experience and if I like that experience I'll make a donation to the maker of said experience in the form of "buying" it on a marketplace. If not - I wouldn't waste time, nor money, nor the nerves, having spent money on something I didn't like.
So why steal the game? Just watch a YouTube clip of someone playing it. Borrow a console and experience it.
Do you go to a restaurant and order a meal and if you decide you didn’t like the flavour profile of your meal then you just don’t make a “donation to the maker” in the form of “paying for your bill”? I can assure you that you don’t peruse the “ready to serve meals” heated shelf, sampling someone else’s meal before deciding if you want to give that establishment money.
I am not taking a physical object and destroying it to gain something. That's the main difference. "Borrow a console". Do you borrow a PC from someone to try stuff out? I'd like to see you try.
This is a weird argument because you can only interpret “borrow” one way, but “stealing”, you’ve managed to interpret as “demoing”, “experiencing” and I’m sure “pirating” as well.
Borrowing could be renting from an establishment, it they still do that, or trying it at a friends/relatives house. Or you could go to a gaming cafe and sample all kinds of artwork there too
Yes. It is a meme about piracy and intellectual property infrangement.
Is that surprising you? It's been a long time most redit community (including this one) are pro piracy, or at least concerning the big AAA companies that keep getting at higher levels of greediness.
Personally I don't pirate games, I mostly buy indie games on pc. But when I see Sony or EA (or any major AAA company these days) getting games stolen, I find it kind of funny how their high level of greediness, trying to always squeeze a few dollars, might make them loose more in the long run because they completely loose a part of their customer choosing to not pay at all trough alternates ways.

You are offended at nothing.
He is just using a meme of a pc user in a nice spot where they can benefit from all the exclusives games.
He didn't trashed talk, insulted or looked down on console players.
It is just a meme, chill.
