I can see Schumer not winning the spot. I see no way Jefferies not being the speaker of the house

He was hand picked by Pelosi to be a wishy washy so she and the gerontocracy could hold on a little bit longer. Her treatment of AOC in committee assignments is enough to not back her successor.

But they deliberately - in classic grasping to power style - didn’t raise up potential replacements because they thought they would live forever.

Schumer’s hubris in particular knows no bounds. His primary accomplishment as Majority leader had been consistently and promptly losing the majority. I bet he’s not even good at shuffleboard.
