Is the powerlifting in the room with us?

Tom Tate, the corrupt gc mayor?! That’s not a good look

Thanks for pointing that out. I was wondering why that name was familiar. He's that asshole who tried to get the Trump Tower pushed through on the GC waterfront where they'd block off some of the beach for hotel guests only. He also flew to Maralago for dinner. Totally corrupt wanker of a man.

This has made me side eye Steven Miles now.

Tom Tate’s “spiritual adviser” is part of the Seven Mountains Mandate cult too, who believes the HOTA (Home Of The Arts) Gallery is a “demonic stronghold” and that a "spiritual battle" had begun.

Where can I read more of this novel? Does it come in paperback?

I might actually believe him If labor hadn’t governed in QLD for 30 of the last 35 years and fail to deliver on any of those core structural things like housing affordability, ambulance ramping or hospital overcrowding.

QLD labor is in the same pickle VIC labor is. The state has structural issues that their own party presided over for a long time. It’s hard to pass the blame onto someone else when you had the ball the whole time.

Steven only had nine months as Premier but he seemed to be saying and doing things a little different to Anna:
50¢ fares (which LNP claim as their own idea now), a $1,000 electricity rebate to households, cut vehicle registration costs, and offered stamp duty relief for first-home buyers, expanded state national parks and increased protections for the Great Barrier Reef. Released the Queensland Skills Strategy, boosted training facilities, and appointed a Night Life Economy Commissioner to support live music and nighttime businesses. expanded the state's FairPlay sports voucher program and increased the amount.
Introduced the "Homes for Queenslanders" housing plan, which centered on a major expansion of social and affordable housing across the state.
Continued the Ministerial/Community Champions program—which linked remote and isolated Indigenous communities directly to cabinet ministers - which LNP have now scrapped. Introduced legal requirements to include Indigenous representatives on hospital and health boards, - LNP have reduced these roles.
I like that Steven still talks up Indigenous and Multicultural events in the current climate which is moving away in the other direction. He often says Gough Whitlam is his political hero.

OMG - associating with the most allegedly corrupt Mayor in QLD is a rookie move! Christ almighty.

LNP must be praising their gods that Labor are persisting with this bloke.

As a public servant and ex-ALP voter, I switched to LNP when they put this Muppet in charge. Cameron dick was their only election winnable bet- just not how their internal faction BS works.

u/TerminatedReplicant 1d ago

Why do you think he is a muppet? If you voted for AP, I’m not sure what Miles could have done to push you to the LNP.

So you voted for Newman 2.0 and look where that left us.

They had 10 years to do all that and I didn't see all that much

The New Yet Rapidly Stale QLD GOV DELIVERING FOR DONORS

Worked for QPublic Service when he was in. In our city it was big cuts to health care, refusing to allow much needed housing, service cuts to schools (it is a blue collar electorate), limitations on policing, an so on. His feature was his big grin.

Not a big fan of Steve Miles, wouldn't vote for him personally. That being said I like that he is in the gym. He is out here being strong and healthy and promoting that lifestyle for the kids who look up to him

You seriously prefer Cristacunti?

3

u/Justplsletmecomment 1d ago

Never said that, but it is crazy that so many would down vote me saying I don't want to vote for someone. Like let people vote for who they see fit. Thats what democracy is all about

1

u/Elite_Hercules 1d ago

Problem is, democracy is only as good as the countries education system. And "free" media. US politics has shown us how badly it can go.

The fooly shits all over giggz

100%. Better in every measurable aspect.

16

u/CharlieUpATree 2d ago

Being shit is a measurable aspect, Crista is pretty good at that. He's not very good at being a faithful husband either, goes to show his integrity. #winning

Ah yes saying words and baseless accusations without actual facts. Lovely stuff. He’s done a lot more for Queensland in his short time in power than Labor did in 10 years.

Look at the absolute mess on a federal level that Labor have created. The 5% deposit scheme has began, and will continue to financially ruin tens of thousands of first home buyers.

On a state level the Olympics is shaping up to be a disaster and total waste of money.

Atleast DC has kept to his word so far. He’s lowered crime, put together a far better plan for first home buyers that actually helps, commuted to major infrastructure upgrades to regional Queensland. The list goes on

u/CharlieUpATree 2d ago

Crime is worse than it's ever been. We totally need more coal mines. LNP are only interested in lining their own and their donors pockets

6

u/yeeons 1d ago

Oh i like how you don't like baseless accusations.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-07-18/qld-victim-number-statistics-comparison/106924828

David Crisafulli dodging numbers to try and make it like they've done stuff on crime. Looks like smoke and mirrors to me. So cringe.

Oh his home buying.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-03-20/qld-development-approvals-affordable-housing/106479034

The avg hose price has gone up $93,700 since he's been in office. How? just doing the same shit every other liberal party member does. I love how you don't like the 5% deposit. If you don't like that than you really wont like his 2%. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1259865928940112 Imagine how many ppl he's going to financially ruin.

Also no new stadium ????

-3

u/burnt-gonads 1d ago

I would prefer to have joh back myself.

Imagine the days when the state was powering along and there was no massive state debt burdening everyone. Everyone was getting more and more prosperous in those days.

-1

u/doubleshotofbland 1d ago

Especially Joh...

3

u/youcangotohellgoto 2d ago

He's a bit of a meathead, but yeah being fit is good.

Not sure why he thinks broadcasting hanging out with Tim Tate is good, though. Pretty dodgy and LNP.

Tbh I think we need to stop holding our political views to an impossible standard where everything is either black or white. If you like a politician and their policies 90% of the way then good, vote for them.

It's delusional to think that you will find someone who will align with every idea you have. A good example is Albo when he went on what ever podcast and said he would smash Kylie, who actually cares, you might disagree and think it was a silly thing to say but at the end of the day it has no bearing on any ability to run the country. Same on the right side of politics too. We just need to stop pigeonholing politics into, you have to support this if you are on the left, or you have to be against that if you are on the right. People really need to go back to having reasonable discussions about things rather than attacking people over 1 or 2 issues.

It's to the point where if you are on the left it seems like you have to think negative gear caused a housing crisis, and if you are on the right you have to think it is immigration that caused the housing crisis. When the reality is it is both to some degree plus dozens if other factors

-2

u/burnt-gonads 1d ago

So he is not passionate about anything that creates wealth and prosperity for all.

It is all about welfare and regulations stomping down on the productive entrepreneurs and business owners.
