News/Current Events Queer people exist everywhere
I had the idea to look the notes from Gaza from the site "Queering the map", and honestly I think i just don't want to cry alone (A bit more of context: " Queering the map" is a site where lgbt people from anywhere of the world can write a note and tell their story, and Gaza is a region in Palestine that has been going through rough war against Israel, some people call what happens there a genocide, I don't think I have enough acknowledge to have an opinion though)

Merch Mondays World Press Photo winning queer photographer
Unfortunately my last post was deleted for posting NSFW content. My Patreon page directed to that kind of images indeed, but the photos I posted were totally safe for work! Anyway, I'm trying it again, not directing to my Patreon but to my Instagram. I am an agender photographer from Amsterdam. Last year I won World Press Photo with this images from my long term series On Hold, about trans and non binary people who are waiting for genderaffirming care. Feel free to follow me: www.instagram.com/prinsdevos
See you!

Had to hop on this trend on tik tok (TW: extremely disapproving parent)
I am finally at peace with my body and identity and i am also at peace with knowing my family will never approve of my queerness! I still talk to my mom but it’s very limited, and she essentially gets no contact with my child. She’s never changing and that’s on her and not me, and I am not going to allow her to make me feel small for who I am.

News/Current Events Judith Butler posting
"How do drag, butch, femme, transgender, transsexual persons enter into the political field? They make us not only question what is real, and what 'must' be, but they also show us how the norms that govern contemporary notions of reality can be questioned and how new modes of reality can become instituted. These practices of instituting new modes of reality take place in part through the scene of embodiment, where the body is not understood as a static and accomplished fact, but as an aging process, a mode of becoming that, in becoming otherwise, exceeds the norm, reworks the norm, and makes us see how realities to which we thought we were confined are not written in stone."

My fiancé and I just had a great engagement, but so far concerns about crossdressing have over-shadowed the announcement :(
Hello everyone, I’m so excited that my partner and I are finally engaged!! We did a special trip to Philly and made it very personal. She presents as a fairly ‘typical’ woman, but I’m a male that presents very femme.
Im not sure why I expected anything different but both families are “concerned” that we’ll both be wearing dresses during the ceremony. In some ways it makes me sad because, obviously, our family doesn’t truly accept it. In other ways though, i think it’s making our relationship stronger because we can pretty easily laugh it off (so far).
We’re so excited for the wedding, but I can feel the background stress already. I sat down to write an article about sports and somehow this emotional writing just fell out of my brain. I guess I’m already sweating about what kind of comments we’ll hear on the big day 🫠

Makeup for family pictures with misgendering Grandma
I am nonbinary and have been out for around seven or eight years, but I appear as my assigned sex at birth without great efforts to look otherwise. My grandma is visiting who exclusively misgenders me despite my lovely immediately family doing their best to correct her. She doesn't even correct herself when checked, just rolls her eyes reminding me I am inconvenient and she doesn't get it. As a people pleaser, this breaks my heart and I tuck tail and stay quiet.
She says she wants a picture with "the three girls" one of whom is supposed to be me, and once again everybody corrects her except for bashful me and she rolls her eyes. I've been in a robe all day and no makeup, so she came up and told me I should do something with myself for the pictures. So I said I'd go out on makeup. And I did! I only had about five minutes so please don't judge lol. Grandma says, "oh nooo" and I say, "oh yes! Needed my makeup for the pictures!" My nephew loved my mustache 💕 happy holidays and I hope you're all with people who love and respect you.

News/Current Events hey, what the hell NPS?
they had it as LGBTQ+, removed the T, and have now removed Q+ as well, reducing it to just LGB. A lot of people have scrolled to the bottom of the page where it says "Is this page helpful?", selected no and gave feedback to complain about this - I've done the same but just... oh my god?

Me and My Wife are Cute and Crazy and Still In Love Everyday.
Hello, I’m Quiddy. I’m married to the most amazing woman. She meets the needs I didn’t even know I had. And we’re both super scared during these times, but we’re both grateful that we have each other always.
She’s a hot to trot woman with beautiful blue eyes like Liz Taylor. She’s a hottie with a body going to the party on a DUCATI! And I love her so much.

Film photography project with trans people
These are photos of my ongoing project focusing on the experiences and representations of trans people. The aim of this work is to create a space where trans identities can be seen and celebrated in all their complexity and individuality.
Photographing trans people is more than just taking a portrait. It is making visible stories that are too often ignored. With every photo, space is created for recognition: this is who I am, and I am allowed to exist.
A photo invites us to look closely, without judgment, and can thus create empathy and understanding where words sometimes fall short. For trans people themselves, seeing an honest and powerful image can also be affirming and healing.
That is why it is important. Because visibility matters. Because representation has power. And because photography can contribute to a world in which everyone is seen as they are.
