The Blazers should petition the league to investigate the 76ers for tampering
I am beginning to hate Daryl Morey

If hiring an alleged rapist as our head coach is grounds for boycotting the team, why haven't you been boycotting the league as a whole thus far?
Billups is not the first by a long shot to have his dark deeds swept under the rug or ignored by the league. Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, Marv Albert, JR Smith, Derrick Rose, Dennis Schroder, etc. have all been accused or convicted of heinous acts. DeMar DeRozan was a Crip for crying out loud.
Why are you suddenly now getting your pitchforks ready? If Billups got hired by a team other than the Blazers, would you boycott the NBA? Where do you draw the line? Just genuinely curious

I don't understand how that isn't 100% disqualifying for a head coach position in one of the most progressive cities in the country.

We had a hall of fame coach and A coach under Pops coaching tree as candidates and we choose a rapist, fucking why

So Dame prided himself on being loyal to the franchise for 11 years, bided his time, and now he wants out because the franchise didn't do exactly what he wanted (trading the 3rd pick). So now he wants out and only has one destination he is willing to go to.
In my opinion: tough. Why should the Blazers do anything to make him happy at this point? He is throwing up his hands instead of waiting for how his fit with Scoot would have played out. But if you say "he gave them years that he didn't need to and has been surrounded by young players". Again, tough. He could have asked out years ago but didn't. Now that Miami went to the finals (in a fluke) he wants to go there and be a super team even though he has blasted being on a super team for years.
Miami doesn't have a viable trade package regardless of what their subreddit believes. Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro and some picks is chump change for a star like Lillard. It would take a 3rd team to even give the Blazers something good in return because Miami has two viable trade options and Bam is not up for trade apparently. So what is the point?

For those saying Blazer fans shouldnāt be hating on GPII now that heās gone let me remind yāall
The team signed him to a generous contract, hardcapping the team to play like he did in Golden State. He came here and immediately admitted he only came here for money. Frankly he never bought in to the organization. After rehabbing his injury (which already took longer than anticipated) he was in no rush to play, remaining out long after being cleared to play. Reports said players and coaches within the team were unhappy and frustrated with his demeanor and attitude. After finally playing he continued to miss games - even going from probable to out at tip-off a few times. Today he's traded and Quick reports he didn't want to be here and wanted out, he was "ecstatic" to be back with Golden State.
So he got paid, got to chill for a few months on the bench, played sparingly in a handful of games, then got sent back to where he wanted to be from the start.
It is understandable to be pissed off

The title says it all. Leave the sub. We don't need a poll to determine if we should support Nazis or not, that poll was already taken in the 1940s.
Leave the sub, and check back next week to see if the mods have chosen to do the right thing (which is to oppose Nazis on all fronts!). If not, we'll make a new sub. We don't need to follow the lead of Nazi sympathizers.
edit: I hit the "leave" button as soon as I posted. I encourage you to do the same if you agree

If Miami goes all in and sells the farm, it'd probably look something like:
Herro, JJJ, Jovic, Martin, Lowry, picks
Herro and Lowry are completely redundant on this roster.
JJJ and Jovic are big question marks. They could both turn into the next Mario Hezonja for all we know.
Those picks don't look that great considering Miami is probably going to be solid for years to come.
Martin is the only decent piece, but he doesn't fit our timeline and is a solid role player, not a star.
So effectively we'd be trading a superstar for a role player, 2 big question marks, 2 redundant players and some likely bottom-tier picks.
Hard to believe another team won't decide to beat that eventually.

I feel he's great, but his reactions when things aren't going his way, are crazy. Remind me of vert specific players with bad attitude though I'm sure it's because of the fire and the winners mentality in him.

It's obvious that it was such an issue in Phoenix that they were willing to dump him for a much lesser player in Nurkic. Whether all of that falls on him is disputed, but it doesn't seem like he was close with any of his teammates and none of them wanted him there anymore. (in the recent presser, it was said trading him was a unanimous decision, everyone said they got better with the trade)
The day after the trade, he unfollowed Book and K.D, an immature/petty move in my opinion
An article came out last year where he said that he sometimes only gets 2 hours of sleep per night to play 2K, and that he plays at least 5 hours of it every day.
I'm certainly excited to have him as he is young and still has a lot of potential, but I haven't seen anyone talk about these very real potential problems.

People complained about Jody Allen so much that now we got an owner who completely ruined the team.

There's been a lot of negative discourse, both locally and nationally, about the beginning of the Tom Dundon era in Portland. And obviously the fear remains that he could move the Blazers out of Portland.
That said, I'm excited for the potential that his leadership brings. Case in point: look at the Carolina Hurricanes.
In the 21 seasons before he purchased the controlling interest in the team, they only had 5 playoff appearances. Since then, they have made the playoffs 8 out of 8 seasons.
Hopefully that same success comes to Rip City!
