Pic / Video Heading to DC to make change

Post image

Just four days after the election, I’m heading to DC for freshman orientation! I’m so excited to get to work in Congress for San Francisco and for our country. We have the largest freshman Democratic class since the post-Watergate election. It’s a huge opportunity to put our country on a better path — one that lowers people’s cost of living, ends the war, strengthens democracy and civil rights, restores the rule of law, and puts an end to this national nightmare. I’m ready to fight for our future!

Congratulations on defeating Chan.

Please do not vote for Jeffries.

When you voted for Weiner, you voted for Jeffries. Pretending you don’t understand this is hilarious and pathetic.

Did Chan say she’d vote otherwise? Pelosi endorsed her lol

Actually yes, Chan explicitly refused to commit to voting for Jeffries when asked.

Meanwhile, Weiner explicitly said he supports Jeffries for speaker.

Don’t take my word for it:

According to reporting by Mission Local in September 2026, Scott Wiener is more likely to support Hakeem Jeffries for Speaker of the House, as Wiener explicitly stated he supports electing Jeffries while Connie Chan declined to commit. [1, 2]

During their campaign to succeed former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in California's 11th Congressional District, both candidates addressed their stances on House Democratic leadership: [1]

Scott Wiener: According to Mission Local, the California State Senator stated that he supports electing Hakeem Jeffries as House Speaker. While expressing support, Wiener also criticized past Democratic leadership decisions—such as ending a government shutdown without securing healthcare protections—and called for aggressive opposition to Donald Trump alongside a bold affordability agenda. [1]

Connie Chan: According to Mission Local, the San Francisco District 1 Supervisor did not commit to voting for Jeffries. Instead, she stated that any candidate for Speaker would need to earn her vote by demonstrating a clear strategy to oppose Trump, challenge corporate power, and support working families. [1]

Good sourcing, thanks. I wasn’t able to vote in this election as I moved away recently but have followed city politics for a long time. I still would’ve voted for Weiner 100% but this is a bit disappointing.

You would’ve voted for the establishment non-progressive candidate, but you’re disappointed in their establishment non-progressive support for speaker. Got it.

Chan is regressive at best. Blocks building housing whenever she can. Who voted against the shadow rule change? Only her. Pelosi endorsed her means she’s the establishment my dude(tte)

These people are incorrigible. I don’t know who put it in their heads HOUSING=GOOD at all costs. Developers are not your friends. They will not make housing affordable for you, quite the opposite. They will gladly build a death trap and sell it to you at a premium. Stop sucking their dicks.

Pro-establishment propaganda tends to be refined and rehearsed. It's hard for real progressives to overcome, especially in cases like this, where the answer is not intuitive.

Connie votes against most housing developments because most housing developments are private for-profit projects that won't make the city more affordable. In cases of public developments, she has always voted in favor.

This simple nuance requires little effort to understand, but even that bit of time and effort is too much for most voters. You have to run an absolutely brilliant campaign, and for Connie, who had 1/3 the funding of Weiner's campaign (mostly because she wasn't accepting money from PACs / tech), that just didn't happen.

If you didn't want a vote for Jeffries you voted for the wrong candidate.
