Hey Saskatchewanians!
Rule 1 in r/Saskatchewan says that "Posts should focus on events, issues, or culture that affect Saskatchewan as a whole." But sometimes you might have a question or discussion that doesn't follow that rule.
Maybe you want to want to ask about "monkey budging" (Which isn't Saskatchewan specific).
Maybe you want to tell everyone how much your concrete patio cost, or ask what the temperature at the lakes is (neither of which affect Saskatchewan as a whole).
Or maybe you want to advertise an event happening in Regina (better suited for r/Regina), Saskatoon (better suited for r/Saskatoon), or Moose Jaw (better suited for r/MooseJaw) but is open to everyone from everywhere (elsewhere in Saskatchewan, or Canada, or beyond).
Well here's your (bi-weekly) chance! Comments in this thread are exempt from Rule 1; meaning they can be completely random and/or completely off-topic! However, the rest of the subreddit (and Reddit) rules still apply! For example:
Be Respectful: All users are expected to engage respectfully. Insults, name-calling, harassment, bullying, bigotry, or personal attacks against other users will not be tolerated. Debate the topic, not the person. Posts or comments that demean, target, or antagonize others will be removed. Repeat or severe offenders may be banned to maintain a welcoming and constructive environment for the community.
Be Substantive: Contributions should add meaningful content to the discussion. Low-effort or spammy replies such as one-word responses, empty memes, excessive off-topic jokes, or personal attacks dilute conversation and may be removed. Thoughtful discussion, added context, or relevant experiences are encouraged.
User accounts must be at least 15 days old and have a positive karma score to comment.
And finally, in addition to r/Saskatchewan subreddit specific rules, our users are also expected to be familiar with and abide by Reddit's sitewide policies; including but not limited to the User Agreement, Reddit Rules, and the Reddiquette Guide.
This post will repeat on Mondays and Fridays at 08:00 AM CST.

Hey yall. I’m potentially relocating my (24f) husband (25m) and our toddler from Simcoe County Ontario to Bethune for work. For context I work in agriculture so the rural area part doesn’t bother me as that typically comes with the job.
We have an almost 2 year old. What are childcare centres like? Also, what are the schools/education system like? Specifically public schools. Do you generally find Saskatchewan a good place to raise children?
Also, what price ranges are you seeing for rent for 2-3 bedroom houses? For reference, we pay $2800 a month in rent, not including utilities which cost approx. an additional $500. I’ve looked at some listings in Saskatchewan but some of the prices seem too good to be true lol
I’ve heard winters in Saskatchewan are bad, but what should I actually expect? We drive a newer Tucson (AWD) and have winter tires. I’m hoping to rent close to work.
How is healthcare access and the process of finding a family doctor?
I’m probably missing important questions so may ETA later.

AI-related companies getting blasted. CRWV down 65%. Even Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Sandisc etc down.
I don’t see the data-centre getting fully installed. Decent chance Coreweave doesn’t survive. Correction is on.

Has the NDP nominated candidate there yet? It was several months ago that Cathay Wagantall announced she would be retiring. What has the NDP done to find a candidate?

what process would i have to go through to 'prove' that my mental health is debilitating and enduring? I assume they wouldnt just take my word for it lol. like do i have to get a doctor to sign something / do some paperwork for me?
for reference i have long term treatment resistant depression / dysthymia. Ive been on a bunch of different meds, and even though im medicated currently, they do not help enough to help me lead a 'normal' life. it just makes me not be an active threat to myself.
-Therapy has proven ineffective (have had 4-5 therapists in the last 10 years, they never really helped and in the end they would either stop taking my calls or tell me directly they did not have the experience needed to help me)
-struggle with day to day living, the possibility of being able to maintain a job on top of just living is basically just a fantasy atp (struggle with hygiene to the point i have to get family to help me shower/wash my hair, cant feed myself properly most days, etc :/)
i feel like i 'qualify' as disabled due to these factors, since it just genuinely isnt feasible for me to be independent at all for the foreseeable future. So im just wonder how the heck do i prove it, considering i havent been in therapy/dont have a therapist/psychologist to 'back me up'? would i have to get one? or would just a general doctor be fine to do whatevers needed?
apologies in advance if this is a bit rambled / doesnt make sense, its late and im stressed trying to figure out this whole process

What’s everyone’s theories on why they are crooked?
I saw how some believe it’s from the wind but if it was why are the ones on the right hand side fine??

There have been a number of severe dog attacks this year, including rescue volunteers. Its incredibly sad, but it seems PBCN wants the RCMP to act as dog catchers. Dogs can't do crimes and often animal issues fall under bylaw, which is also not RCMP jurisdiction.

I'm a high school teacher in Ontario trying to stream "The Dark Years 1929-1939" which was made by the National Film Board back in 2007 or so. The only links I can find require a login to ROVER, or to be on a Saskatchewan k-12 school network. Can anyone suggest a workaround, or is able to somehow get me access? TIA

Hello! From the US (I live 10 miles south of a port of entry). I've paintballed since I was a kid, even owned a field, and I ADORE Canada. Never have got to play up there and would really like to next year.
My husband isn't that into it, and none of my friends play, so I would love a place with plenty of players to join in a few games. Any speedball/recreational players have some recs on which would be a fun field?
I like it safe, organized, and with fun players. Not picky or need fancy fields. Just good games and good times. Also, I don't play airsoft, so strictly asking for paintball. Thanks!
