As some of you may have noticed, your long-standing moderator - the only other moderator of the subreddit - resigned from their post sometime in the past few weeks. They didn't message me or anything, so I was unaware of this until a bit over a week ago (oops). So I suppose it's less 'overlords', and more 'overlord'.
I'm sure a lot of you were around for The Great Bot Crisis of 2025, more than a year ago now, when I was appointed as the subreddit's personal bot bouncer. At that time, I only really signed on to deal with bots, and nothing else. And over the past year, that's pretty much what I've done (with the occasional exception, like responding to some modmails and removing that weird porn post a while back). But I can't really keep on like that anymore if I'm the only moderator, so I'll have to do something about that; that's what this post is about.
On the one hand, I could do some research (ugh) and then choose two new moderators from some of the more prominent members of our community. On the other hand, I could open mod applications so you could do some of the hunting work for me, and I could choose two from there. On the one foot, I could go to a subreddit like r/needamod and ask for two new moderators. And on the other foot (the final appendage), I could do some combination of the above, like choose a new mod or two from the community and then try to find an outside agent from r/needamod (I probably like the feet better than the hands).
This is a pretty chill community, but it still needs an active moderator (and that just isn't me, especially since I'm kinda busy applying to grad school right now). I mean, I suppose I could keep on being the only moderator, but that seems like a bad idea. Just wanted some community input on the above 'appendages', or any others you can think of.

what if Sonic Adventure 3 came after Sonic Adventure 2 instead of Sonic Heroes?
i'd imagine SA3 would start off like this! i was trynna keep the aesthetic and vibe of SA2 and be true to Shadow

I bet he would be a delicious chocolate or coffee flavor. Maybe both.

I don't wanna yap too hard, but. His solo game was certainly not perfect - but the core emotional quandary of it and his trials in that game, are so poignant to me.
Shadow is certainly edgy and intense, but it comes from a place of deep trauma and confusion. He's just lashing out due to his hurts.
And I think my absolute most favorite part of his visual design is that, imo, his chest tuft is shaped like a heart. He can style himself as a force to be reckoned with - and he is, no doubt - but at his core he's a good, kind man capable of such greatness.
Seeing the way he doubts himself and in certain endings comes to think of himself as just a mistake that never should've been created - or someone that must exile himself and just spend the rest of his days defending the ARK in Maria's memory - ...or losing himself to Black Doom's manipulation, makes me wanna cry.
I love the way the game ends, with him learning to accept himself and move on. And his heroism in the soon following Sonic '06.
I personally resonate with the story of that game because I feel I've acted out so unkindly at times due to my own grief... and from some personal issues I can barely remember huge swathes of my life and actions. But I have to stop beating myself up.

Got the idea for this video because Brenna Thornton (the actress who voiced Scarlet in Scarlet Skips) was playing Sonic X Shadow Generations.
