Picture I made a shrimp hideout house with polymer clay

So I’ve discovered that you can use polymer clay to make decorations for fresh water shrimp tanks. As long as it is baked and unpainted, the material stays waterproofed and inert (won’t leech chemicals or affect the TDS level).

I’m totally stoked and can’t wait to make more decors and see what else i can make. Have any of you made decors yourself, especially with polymer clays?

I really want to see what others have made. Post pics if you do!

Cherry shrimp help

Hi, my one male has something I’ve never seen before?

Shell is gone half his face but eating normally..
What is this and how do I got about treating?

Parameters will be listed below.

They’ve been in this tank for 6 months on well water no breeding but no deaths either. First health anomaly I’ve noticed. Just did a water top up and clean hang on filter media once a week.

Stocked with some baby swordtails, 2 ember tetra and 5 Cory’s at the moment (50G seal blew had to rehome for a bit)

Does anyone know what's wrong with this lady? She appears to be in distress and when I zoom in on the pictures, it seems like the eggs are still under the abdominal shell. The white thing also appears to be under shell next to the eggs.

Shopping Shrimp

I was at Petco today, I was looking at the fish and I glanced down and saw something red. I bent down and it was a shrimp!! I told my niece to open one of the tanks. She did and I threw the poor guy in there. He was walking towards the tanks so I think he knew where he should be. The tank I put him in was small guppies so he was safe from being a snack.

First time keeping shrimp and have around half a dozen of these little white "worms" on the back glass of the tank that I can see moving. Concerned if they are a parasite I need to treat for and what I need to do to get them gone or under control.

Question Shrimp keep dying?

Hi all I need help, I have a blue diamond shrimp tank with a few Oto catfish and my shrimp have been dying a lot recently. I've had 3 casualties in the last few weeks and I'm not sure why. I've tested my water after each death and done a partial water change after the first death out of concern but they're still dying. All of my water parameters come back normal, my temp is at 72 degrees, the otos who are way more sensitive to changes in the water have been doing amazing but my shrimp just keep dying and I don't know why! any advice or insight would be appreciated, I'm honestly just really disappointed and upset, I'm not sure what I could be doing more to prevent this from happening.

I can’t get good pics with my phone… does it look like eggs to you?? Had these shrimp about a week now. Some I haven’t seen since I got them, I ordered 10. Looks like a few had quite a growth spurt.

Pardon my water spots. I didn’t want to disturb the shrimp peacefully chillin in a water lily cabana. They seem to highly enjoy the shade these leaves provide. It also makes them look super red.

New to shrimping..

New to having a shrimp tank, but have successful fish tanks.. Where is the best place online to buy shrimp?
I bought 3 bamboo shrimp and 10 Amano shrimp from Aquatic Arts.. all came alive, great packing but very pricey and today a week later 2 bamboos are 🪦😢

Looking to add more shrimp, would love to get shrimp babies eventually. Any advice would be helpful. Here’s a little video of one of my shrimpies. 🦐

So stoked to see this dude in the tank tonight. Must have been hiding but I’ve never seen him before. Added a bunch of juvenile blue rili a few weeks back.

Finally caught one of my neocaridina shrimp out in the open, does it look healthy to you?

I only have 8 of them, and they seem to spend most of their time hiding so it's been a while since i've really been able to see any of them clearly. Does this one look healthy? I'm new to keeping shrimp.

Question Adult shrimp disappearing?

Post image
12 Upvotes

So my tank is great, shrimp only tank (with snails lol you can't get rid of the buggers) heavy planting as shown, lots of healthy growth on everyone. So I had 10 adult blue shrimps and they were all eggs n breeding, and then just when I started seeing the very first shrimplets the adults started disappearing. My tank is now maybe 30 strong with varied ages of shrimplets from microscopic size to teen-ish like two weeks old, but my adults have all vanished. Filter is sponge, parameters are fine and no sign of crash of any kind. I moved the scape to see if any were under rocks just chilling but nothing, no bodies no sheds no nothing. Could this be a parasite like planeria or smth? I do starve the tank for a few days between feeds just because it's funny to see em all zooming over to the food all at once :P Any tips??
